Please share your recipes for chicken stew. I have begun making Chili's enchilada soup - making some today -and have forgotten proportions of potatoes, etc. for stew .I really just need the amounts of each item - I know how
I make about six quarts of the kind that is cooked forever! I have over a dozen local cookbooks which do not contain this recipe and have also spent over an hour on the internet, It's stew time! Thanks!

CHICKEN STEW
2 LARGE YELLOW ONIONS, FINELY DICED
5 LB YUKON GOLD OR RED POTATOES, PEELED AND CUBED TO DESIRED SIZE
• COVER ONION AND POTATOES WITH WATER AND COOK UNTIL TENDER
ADD:
1 ROASTED CHICKEN FROM THE DELI, DEBONED
1 32 0Z CARTON CHICKEN BROTH
1 LARGE CAN TOMATO SAUCE
1 CAN WHITE CREAMED CORN
1 LARGE CAN CRUSHED TOMATOES
• ADD SALT AND PEPPER TO TASTE
• ALLOW TO SIMMER TO BLEND FLAVORS
• STIR IN CORN JUST BEFORE SERVING TO PREVENT SCORCHING
• SERVE WITH CORNBREAD AND CRACKERS
• HAVE A BOTTLE OF TOBASCO OR LOUSIANNA HOT SAUCE AVAILABLE TO ADD TO INDIVIDUAL’S BOWL
and spaghetti noodles...
Sounds good. I also add a chopped bell pepper, a couple of celery stalks and 2 or 3 diced carrots in the pot with the potatoes and onions.
Hello Guys i think that I always create this. I don't add legumes, but do add beans.Creates a awesome dense chicken stew. Tasty. If I don't have remaining over chicken, I buy one of those rotisserie chicken at the shop, and debone it. So simple, and so delightful.Thanks a lot!!

Biology lesson are good for helping Eddy get correct informations on legume and bean. For bean is one type of legume so when bean are added then a legume is becoming associated with the food you are making.

For bean is one type of legume so when bean are added then a legume is becoming associated with the food you are making. Is like old song on love and marriage; bean and legume go together like horse and carriage, or maybe in you country like donkey and cart. Bean are especially tasty if mixed up with some ham or other meats from swines.
Are saying you try bean is all legume and some legume bean not all?
Here in Hoodlum Hollow I like bean in chili, not so much in chicken stew though! I thought chicken stew was a southern thing?

Bean is legume but not all legume is bean. Monkey grass is legume but monkey grass is not making bean only pretty little blue flower. Honeylocust tree is legume but not avisable for using in chiken stew be cause honeylocust tree have big stickers sticking out all over. Soybean is good legume for many reasons and be cause it makes oil to use instead of pig lard for peoples with bigotry against swine foods.
