Do any restaurants around here have Chocolate gravy with biscuits on the brekfast menu? I have never seen any. I would love a change from the same old gravy, biscuits, eggs and grits.
Carole's is off Wilson Dam Road -- where the old Frank's Italian place used to be -- 102 E. Pershing 381-1302 open 530am-1pm. Staggs is same hours I think or something close and I think you are right they only do chocolate gravy certain days of the week.
I recently read an article in Southern Living magazine that says Country Boys serves chocolate gravy and biscuits for breakfast. The magazine had Country Boys listed as a must-eat southern breakfast joint.
Combine everything except butter and vanilla in saucepan. Bring to boil, stirring constantly to prevent scorching. Once boiling, cut heat down and stir for a minute more until desired thickness is reached. Remove from stove and stir in butter and vanilla. Pour over biscuits.
I've never seen it & did a search on the internet. Only Carole's I could find is at 102 Pershing Ave., Muscle Shoals. I don't know if it's still there or if it's the one mentioned in this topic.

If you're driving north on Wilson Dam Road between 6th Street and Avalon Avenue, you'll see "BREAKFAST" painted on the back of the building in big letters on the east side of WDR.
