Dean and Christy Parave believe "God put people on the earth to breed and enjoy each other"

A devout Christian couple from Florida are championing an unusual evangelism technique – swinging.

Christy and Dean Parave met online eight years ago, and began swinging after being approached in a DIY store.

They now regularly swap partners with other couples.

While most would regard sexual promiscuity as conflicting with their religious beliefs, the Paraves, who both compete as bodybuilders, believe that they can use their newfound connections to share the Gospel.

"God has put me here to spread his word and our lifestyle community is a great place to do it," Dean told Barcroft Media.

"You can't get closer to someone than having sex with them."

He believes that he's been given a unique opportunity to share his faith with those who might otherwise never hear about Jesus.

"I'm getting to people that will probably never even visit a church," he said.

"God's not gonna put a lion with a bunch of elephants, so what's he gonna do? He's gonna put a swinger with a bunch of swingers to spread his word. Simple as that."

"If all the swinger are sinners what's the best way to talk to the sinners? To join them, right?"

It's an unconventional pastime for a Christian couple, but the pair insist they have a mutual understanding.

"I don't think God would be mad at what we're doing. At first I was conflicted but the more we looked at it the more it makes sense to us," Christy explained.

"Dean and I are both in agreement with this lifestyle, so we're not committing adultery. God put people on the earth to breed and enjoy each other – I feel God is always with me and he has put us here for a reason."

The Paraves have even set up a website, www.fitnessswingers.com, to help other like-minded couples – those who have an interest in faith and healthy living – to find one another.

Their Twitter account reveals a rather bizarre mix of swinging resources, Bible verses and links to worship songs.

They insist that they remain committed to a single goal, however.

"If I can go to the next swinger's event and get 10 people to believe in Christ...my job is done," Dean said.

Gonna need a full body condom, (google them) but then you still might be able to see them so they should plan on a blindfold too.

From Christ own, recorded, words:

Matthew 7:21-23 (English Standard Version) {21}  “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. {22}  On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ {23}  And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

Christians are to judge those who come representing Christ, claiming Christ to insure that their actions mirror those of Christ life and/or His teachings.  In this case those claiming Christ name, calling themselves Christians are not behaving or living lives that reflect Christ teachings or His example.  Adultery is listed as sinful and yet these, self proclaiming Christians, have no problem openly living that which is listed as sinful, as if it is approved of.

While they may be Christians, it is between them and God/Christ to know for sure, their actions and life does not reflect Christian living or the evidences of God's Holy Spirit and therefore they are doing harm and not being an example of a Christian nor are their actions giving any reason to believe that they have been Saved and come to that Saving knowledge of Christ or they would seek to please God and live according to Christ example and instructions and not against them.

You make the statement that in this case those claiming Christ name, calling themselves Christians are not behaving or living lives that reflect Christ teachings or His example, but then you say "While they may be Christians". Doesn't the Bible say you shall know them by their fruit? Doesn't sound like good fruit to me but then what do I know.

What about a married preacher that runs off with a married woman, then comes back and they give him his church back? Was he a christian? Was she? Were they during the time they were doing the nasty? Were they christians when they came back? Surely he was a christian before, or why would he be preaching, and judging others?

From what I'm seeing most of the time is that they were a Christian but they, not being perfect, failed. They then ask God to forgive them so they were put right back in their leadership position because they made a mistake & said they were sorry. As long as you say you're sorry, you're good to go!

Doesn't make sense to me but that's what the Christians say because they say the Bible says it.

In the very same way that a non-Christian can do things that are characterized by scriptures to be descriptive of Christians so can Christians do acts that are often attributed (by Christians) to non-Christians.  The only difference between a Christian and non-Christian as far as God is concerned is that the Christian has placed their faith in Christ to be their advocate and savior and has God's gift of God's Holy Spirit as a mark to certify that they (the Christian) belongs to God.  The non-Christian is not given God's Holy Spirit to minister unto them and the non-Christian's only encounter with God (God's Holy Spirit) is when the Holy Spirit convicts that person of their sins and Spiritual need for Salvation.

So what I am saying is even though the scriptures define certain fruits that can characterize a Christian account of their changed lives and desires to please God and being led by God's Holy Spirit, there is nothing that says that only Christians do good things and only non-christians do evil nor does scripture say or indicate that Christians can't do evil or bad things.  The Scriptures do define acts attributed to being led by the flesh verses being led by the Holy Spirit.

Regarding sins within the Church by Pastors, Minsters, etc, again my own opinion/belief, A minister is not qualified to be a minister because he/she goes to seminary and receives a divinity degree or even because they call themselves a minister or actually preaches in Christ name.  There are some ministers that have been surveyed, anonymously , and reported to be atheist yet were preaching every week because the pay was so good they couldn't find an easier job or one that they could be paid as well at.   So preaching doesn't make  minister a true "man of God" but (my own opinion) the actual minister is qualified ONLY because God, through His Holy Spirit, has gifted or enabled this person to be a preacher/minister.   People/mankind are drawn unto God often by other people but only as God's Holy Spirit directs or empowers them to be able to do.

Ministers can and do sin and I fully believe when any Christian chooses to be directed by their flesh and their sinful nature, which is ever present, grieves the Holy Spirit and thus a minister can have God's blessing/gift removed due to his sins.  Even though a minister is reinstated to preaching though doesn't mean that God restores that gift of ministry upon the pastor.  If the pastor though is sincere in seeking forgiveness I would say it's possible that God (and God alone) could restore this person's ministry (ability) but it's also possible that even though a pastor is reinstated in his former position that God will never bless that minister in the future.
