Did anyone see how Chrysler motors used the taxpayers bail out money?? They purchased a $200,000 Thankyou note to the American taxpayer, so you will feel good about giving them a few billion more.

They even gave a lot more people presents. Remember they are owned by Cerberus. Cerberus also bought a department store chain name Mervyn's. Mervyn's had locations around the United States. Cerberus wanted to make more money off the chain even though it was profitable. Cerberus figured out the land for the stores was worth more than the stores. They sold the land out from under the stores and got a distribution for their investment. The stores now had to rent their locations. They then dumped the stores. The stores are bankrupt and closing. 18,000 people are out of jobs. Merry Christmas from Cerberus. Oh, and we gave them more money to encourage them.

Update: Cerberus gets even more money. Cerberus owns 51% of GMAC and GM owns 49%. Now we get the news Feds throw GMAC $6 billion lifeline (link). Somebody at Cerberus really is in with someone in Washington.
Perhaps Barney Frank is now involved with someone from Cerberus. It should be a short romance though; any company that would own the Remington and Marlin firearm companies will probably have a few ultra-conservatives.

Then why did the Bush Administration make sure Cerberus got the money? Could the former Secretary of the Treasury be part of the connection? John Snow, chairman of Cerberus, took the job recently after spending three years in the Bush Administration. I smell a rat.

I will not indemnify the Democrats in this mess. They wanted to pass a bailout for the auto industry. I was glad the Republicans in the Legislature stopped the auto bailout. But then Bush had to step in and save the day for his pals.
I heard today that Chrysler thinks the actual final total of the bail out they need is somewhere around $120 billion. This must be a bad dream.
I hope John Snow sent George Bush a Christmas card. That is the least he could do.
