I agree in principal with you. But, in reality, by boycotting his oil we are hurting the Americans who own those stations and are just trying to earn an honest living. It's a no win situation.
Citgo is doing the same thing this year. There are adds on the tv all day featuring a man by the name of "Joe Kennedy". It shows the poor and down troden, woman sitting in front of her stove, single mom and little girl with 5 layers of clothes on etc... Then good ole Joe tells us how "our friends in Venezula" want to sell us fuel oil for 40% less. Of course some people will say "Chavez is so nice and good" but it's just a shot trying to make the US look bad.
If Chavez nationalizes the telephone and eletricity generating industries, Verizon and EDS will seek compensation. If he stiffs them, look for the US to cease Citgo to payoff the shareholders. Also, any Venezuelan propery outside their embassies and consulates will be fair game as well. Venezuelan shipments of oil will be garnished -- part of the funds to US.
sotuh American generalissimos tried this in the past. Resulting in US law and international treaties to recompense the shareholders.
CITGO, based in Houston, is a refiner, transporter and marketer of transportation fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals, refined waxes, asphalt and other industrial products. The company is owned by PDV America, Inc., an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A., the national oil company of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

themax,
I don't think that Citgo is changing its name, I KNOW that 7 Eleven has stopped selling Citgo Gas, and the change may be the rebranding of 7 Eleven gasoline.
7 Eleven dropped Citgo because of PDV's Venezuelan ownership.

Red Face wELCOME TO THE DECLINE OF THE AMERICAN EMPIRE, AT THE END OF THE AGE OF OIL. Oil powers about 600 million vehicles worldwide. U.S. oil production peakes in the early 1970, to meet rising energy needs after this point th US became increasingly dependent on foreign oil. This paved the way for the Arab oil embargo. We produce 39% less oil today then we did in 1970. According to BP-Amoco world oil production peaked in 1979, this is acknowledged by the IEA and other scientific journals. Studies indicate we have aprox. 30 years of oil left on the planet and saudi arabia has most of it at about 6%. The dept. of energy anticipate that world demand will rise by more then 50 percent between 1993 and 2015. For a more clearer picture in oil profit and corruption take a closer look at Enron, The Bin Laden Group, al Qaeda, oil companies, Dick Cheney and John Ashcroft among others. Hey Cheney knew...Connect the dots between the CIA, Wall Street, Drug money and insider trading. You will be amazed. Search on the internet for Lt. Mike Vreeland and 9/11. Just connect the dots and you will see the truth. Let one happen, stop the rest.

Is there any way you could provide that inforamtion? I am curious.

Have you participated in Toys for Tots?

Around Arizona, the Hell's Angels Motorcycle gang is THE LARGEST SINGLE CONTRIBUTOR. Is that to make good guy look bad, or to make Hell's Angels look good?
