Citgo gas is changing it's name. Chaves owns citgo and is feeling the losses because of his anti-American slandering. I think it's going to be petro express.

I agree in principal with you. But, in reality, by boycotting his oil we are hurting the Americans who own those stations and are just trying to earn an honest living. It's a no win situation.
Last winter Citgo sold heating oil to our citizens up North for very cheap prices while regular distributor prices went ski high just to irritate Bush. Bush, of course, didn't like it, but couldn't do anything about it.

Citgo is doing the same thing this year. There are adds on the tv all day featuring a man by the name of "Joe Kennedy". It shows the poor and down troden, woman sitting in front of her stove, single mom and little girl with 5 layers of clothes on etc... Then good ole Joe tells us how "our friends in Venezula" want to sell us fuel oil for 40% less. Of course some people will say "Chavez is so nice and good" but it's just a shot trying to make the US look bad.

I'm not too good at finding old links, but I remember Chavez did offer cheap oil to poor people, and some places in tne frost belt did take him up on the offer.

I think i also remember some folks up in Alaska telling Chavez to stick it.
If Chavez nationalizes the telephone and eletricity generating industries, Verizon and EDS will seek compensation. If he stiffs them, look for the US to cease Citgo to payoff the shareholders. Also, any Venezuelan propery outside their embassies and consulates will be fair game as well. Venezuelan shipments of oil will be garnished -- part of the funds to US.

There is a Citgo station at Pride that seems to always have the best price around.
