Thats because collecting fingerprints from law abiding CITIZENS is no different than collecting DNA from law abiding CITIZENS.  Either way, its an invasion of privacy that I dont intend to support.

As for illegals, they are not CITIZENS nor are they LAW ABIDING so yes, I support fingerprinting every one of them as part of the process to GAIN CITIZENSHIP.  Your loose comparison of fingerprinting illegals and fingerprinting gun owners, what prompted this conversation, was Apples to Oranges.

I still have not seen an explaination from you regarding WHY Feinstein wants my fingerprints in order for me to own a gun.  There is no mention of your 'responsibility' idea in her bill.  There is no mention of using the fingerprints as part of the background check.  So, tell me, what exactly is her plan for them?  You dont know, and neither do I, because they dont say what their plans for them are.  

You might be all for handing over the keys to your life to some politician just because they ask you to but, for me, I'm going to go with the worst case scenario when I see something like the crap she is proposing.......

THE FACTS: The seemingly stern admonition that illegal immigrants must go to the back of the line, often heard from the president, doesn't appear to have much practical effect except in the most obvious sense. It's not clear he is saying anything more than that illegal immigrants won't get to cut in line for citizenship once they've obtained provisional legal status.

Like those living abroad who have applied to come to the U.S. legally, illegal immigrants who qualify for Obama's proposed path to citizenship will surely face long waits to be processed. But during that time, they are already in the U.S. and will get to stay, work and travel in the country under their new status as provisional immigrants, while those outside the U.S. simply have to wait.

Sending illegal immigrants to the "back of the line" is something of a distinction without a difference for some legal immigrants who dutifully followed all the rules before coming to the United States.

For instance, some legal immigrants who are in the U.S. on an employer-sponsored visa can't easily change jobs, or in some cases take a promotion, without jeopardizing their place in line to get a green card. In other cases, would-be legal immigrants in other countries wait for years to be able to settle in the U.S.

Obama is using "back of the line" somewhat figuratively, because there are multiple lines depending on the applicant's relationship with family already in the U.S. or with an employer. Generally, a foreign-born spouse of a U.S. citizen or someone with needed skills and a job offer will be accepted more quickly than many others.

But even as a figurative point, his assertion may cloak the fact that people who came to the U.S. illegally and win provisional status have the great advantage over applicants abroad of already being where they all want to go.

You're talking about legal immigration. The illegals will just bring their family in the same way they got here.

one would think, with all the republicans being able to see the future, they would have known they were going to lose the election. that should have lessened the "butthurt"!

is it just me or have any of you noticed how the conservatives are always complaining about what "may happen"?

The reason America lost the last election is that enough moochers put down their foties and crack pipes to join the decieved good folks that vote democrat no matter what is running.  It is time that all of us thought for ourselves instead of listening to the mainsteam media.

We need to make it easier for entrepreneurs and people with tech, engineering, and math skills from other countries to come here. I don't know exactly how you do that but it needs to be done.

Kenny Powers is probably right..we have a nation of basket weavers and pottery makers instead of science majors or engineers to advance the achievements of the United States..lets let in the people who will do the most good..and when the U.S. is no longer a nation the newly arriving educated people can re-make the whole place in their name and image..sounds good to me..
