I just drove by Clement Hill in Muscle Shoals and it was on fire. This was around 8:45 p.m. It looked like a lot of damage was done and there was a ton of smoke. Please be careful in this area if you are going by.

O my goodness! Hope it isn't a total loss.
I just passed there about 20 minutes ago and they still have one ladder truck there--still some rising smoke. When I went by last night I couldn't get within 10 miles of my destination--looked like every truck in the Quad-Cities was there.

No, they were having a retirement sale.
They've been advertising about closing their doors, retiring etc for years...I stopped believing the ads a long time ago because they never went away...I bought a table from them in 1998 and they were advertising it then...
I hope they are covered for their loss...I hate this happens to anyone...

Me, too. I had no idea they were going out of business. I got a gift card last Christmas for $100 worth of merchandise and have been waiting to use it. It supposedly didn't expire, but I guess it has now.
On my regular route this morning I passed by around 9:00 and there were still firetrucks out there. I had no idea until just now that it caught on fire... I hate that!
Anyone care to place a wager on how the fire started?
When I drove past the building this morning, I too saw the fire truck from Muscle Shoals, but I also saw someone wearing a T-shirt with State Police Fire Marshal and another person with a jacket displaying ATF Agent. Anything that you see those together, something's up.
I don't live far from the store, and the smell this morning was terrible.

Posey's on Florence Boulevard did--I think it was Dec. '99, but I believe they found a short in some electrical system there. The store was open when it started mid-afternoon. I'm not sure about any others.
I do know that foam used in furniture making is very combustible, so a fire will spread quickly in those conditions.
