Today on CNN that fine bunch of people who run this Nation are going to tell our fighting men, and women in the Military to prepare to take a Pay-Cut. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING??????

I think we should be telling those holding power, its high time that their the ones who are the over paid, and they should be prepaired for a SHOCKIING PAY-CUT. But then we have to listen to their sad sorry story they tell that if they dont get the big bucks we won't get qualified people to run this country, you know what? anythings better then these fat, lazy, cheating, scum bags we have had to put up with recently, Democrate's, and Republican's alike.

Funny thing, they can just give themselves raises at the drop of a hat, while they have to debate for eon's on a stinking raise for minimum raise which hasn't as yet I don't think been resolved?

Are we now under a dictatorship? Helloooo!!! We pay your **** wages, and you will not dictate to us with out being able to put it up for a vote, no matter what the issue And today I for one VOTE "NO"! We Don't Reduce Military pay for our Service personnel now, or ever.

DellDude, I can't find anything On CNN referring to a Pay Cut. I did note a dispatch saying that Bush Says Congress is Undercutting the troops with the timetable for withdrawal. And some nonsense about how withdrawal would be loosing the war. I really thought the US planned to withdraw as soon as possible anyway. I mean, we have been announcing almost daily that we will withdraw as soon as we're not needed. (personally I think that was March 15, 2003)

The first time it did say what I spoke of, then when I went back on to CNN they (CNN) had reworded it to mean the "funding cuts" by the Democrates to stop the war.

Semper Fi,(carry on citizen's!)

That's cool. I was about to get upset. I knew we had a raise coming. Big Grin

No wonder you were confused. That piece should have seen a BIG BLUE PENCIL before it was posted. (I know about blue pencils, I have seen enough of them)The report is on legislation Passed and signed that gives a raise of 2.2% Why he brought up the debate before the bill became law is beyond me. He did something interesting though, he sort of said, the Senate is giving a 2.2% pay raise to the military, with some incentive raises to help retain officers. The house would have given the Military a 2.7% raise. As is generally the case, the House is a bit more liberal than the Senate. There is a fellow who knows how to be subtle, express an opinion in a news story, and keep it from being taken as pure opinion. The slant is subject to interpretation, but that is how I see it.

What is the difference between a GI and BlackWater employee?
All GI's are under the direct command of the United States Government. Blackwater Employees are contracted to specific organizations. They are private security guards and in some cases normal workers, like drivers and cooks.
A major difference is the pay rate, Balckwater security pays a lot better than the armed forces. Another difference is Blacwater employees are autonomous. They are not involved in Seek and destroy operations. But they work independently. No Central Command.
