I got word through PAWS that the Colbert County animal shelter is about to euthanize some of their dogs because they are out of room at the shelter.

*Please* consider going by the shelter if you can provide a good home to one of them.

I'm sorry if this post saddens anyone; it isn't my intention. I just know there is someone out there who is thinking about getting a new pet, and I hope this would give them a little nudge. Smiler

Have a great day, everyone!

Anyone seen the Animal Cruelty commercial with Sarah McLaughlin? Every time it comes on I completely bawl, meanwhile our four-legged baby must love it because I give him oogoodles of hugs and kisses, plus real bacon.

I'm gonna test the waters with the hubster this evening and see about going to the shelter. I've been thinking of a way to bring it up about getting another dog, but this does make it urgent. Thanks for sharing the info.
I wish I could help but I still have 3 left from the litter I have been trying to place. They are now 4 months old and I will keep them as long as I can (or it takes) to find them homes. I know that animal shelters have to put some to sleep and its so sad, but I will find these homes with out over burdening the shelters with more.

I hope someone goes and saves some of these dogs...it is so awful....please neuter and spade your pets.

I share your dream! I have done a lot of research, in fact. If I am ever in a position to raise the kind of money that would be necessary to buy the land and build the facility, I won't hestitate to form a non-profit organization and go for it!
