He was a school resource officer for the county, he has worked as a corrections officer for a prison, he's currently employed as an officer with Sheffield P.D. (Thats all according to him, I have no firsthand personal knowledge of him.)
Len, as I remember, is a great guy. His experience? Well, he did grow up in Sheffield on the wrong side of the tracks and came out just fine. My sister went to school with his brother. Plus, we lived in the same neighborhood when I was little. Since when is experience a prerequisite? The last "major" election proved this. With this in mind, I'd say Len is WAY more qualified for sheriff than Obama was for POTUS.

Pretty sure it will be the candidate who gets the most votes. However, after seeing recent events in the American political arena, this is not always the case.
