That language like in Florence Comprehensive Long Range Plan reminds me of George Bush as in Comprehensive Strategy For Victory in Iraq or Comprehensive Immigration Policy. When politicians use words like "comprehensive" it usually means they don't know what they are talking about, it just sounds good, it covers everything without really covering anything. It is whatever you want it to be when you need it to be. It is BS .

Well said!! Vote them out!
I agree with snake, its easy to be against everything. Especially when you havent taken the time to even find out the details. A comprehensive plan is very important from a planning standpoint. It's your opportunity to have some say so as to how the city develops. It's easy to sit back on your "lazy boy keyboard" and poke holes in everything the city does, but it would take some effort to actually attend a meeting and provide positive input. If you want things to be different quit spouting "vote them all out" and get off your REAR and get involved in the process!!!!!

People on here has a right to "spout off" if they feel the need to, and your "FRIENDLY ADVICE" Roll Eyes here is really going to make someone want to be PART of any process they don't trust from the very beginning...

Would it NOT be better for you to SHOW people HOW to get involved in the processes?? Otherwise people only have ONE option, and that is at the polls to "VOTE 'EM ALL OUT"...

Simply because people like you offer NO solution to their questions and concerns, you just want to give orders on what they have to do.

Now, if you come back and TELL people what to do to get involved, except at the polls, I am sure you may have an audience, but insulting people's intelligence is NOT the way to get them to listen to you.... just ask many ex members here.
I read these boards almost daily and all I see is people who are against anything the city leaders do. Almost every post ends with "vote them all out". I think you already tried that in the last election. It did not work then and it will not work next time. If you truly want to see some changes in the City you need to embrace these opportunities to join in the planning process such as the comprehensive plan. This is where your input could make the biggest difference. Go to any public hearings and let the leaders and planners know what type of city you want.

The "Comprehensive Plan" had a public unvieling just this week. It was advertised in the paper and has been widely discussed. I have had a look. Not bad from what I can tell. Its part of the public record, it would be nice if those who have not even seen it would go have a look. Then you can intelligently complain all you want. Who knows? It may be online.
It was not well advertised. Apparently the only people who knew about were the "mayor" and planning director and a couple of other people. Well at least the "mayor" got quoted in the paper a lot saying things like he is working strenuously to bring people back who have left. I wonder to do what, work at Bass Pro or whatever they concoct to go at Vet. Park. THe "Plan" says that Green Space is critical to an area which is true. So why is the "mayor" so intent on bulldozing one of our best parks for a crony deal? And don't tell me Bob Hill ain't a crony. Get real. THe "mayor' violates a major tenet of the Plan, and then tells us how great it is. It actually is a good plan but the point is it led right to more mis-leading nonsense from the top. Typical.
