Go to your downloads,... find the avg,... then install. What you downloaded was the install pkge. If you cant find your downloads, redownload the install and when the downloads show, double click the avg download and it should start actually downloading avg. Avast as NYT said is good too,....quote:Originally posted by Justasking:
Should I remove spybot before downloading AVG....what about cookies? I downladed avg but it does not appear.

AVGs recent upgrade did increase its use of system resources. I tried Avast and am very pleased with it. Virtually no drag on system resources.

i'd suggest not using windows in the first place, but as far as win32 i would use--
AVGfree or avast.. make sure not to install the AVG toolbar or any of the fluff
then get spybot search and destroy and
MBAM - malware bytes anti-malware.
then get firefox-- install the adblock and noscript plugins.
now you're safe.

I need that too. When I run firefox, I can't load the TD for some reason.

AVG used to be the best free anti-virus, but now the title belongs to Microsoft Security Essentials. It protects against viruses, spyware, and malware.

if you're running a legal copy of windows.
i've been hearing a lot of talk about NOD32 is the best anti-virus, but i don't have a windows machine to test it with.
