but are still conficting stories in the literal, INERRANT word of god, god certainly has the power to make the words non-conflicting so why didn't he?

on the other hand, it makes perfect sense when you realize all those words were written by fallible men for even more fallible men.

and you sheep still eat it up thousands of years later, amazing.

in the first account, God created a man and female simultaneously, in God's image. in the second account Adam gets created from the dust.

Hi Tomme,

You are so right. In Genesis 1, God tells us what He did. In Genesis 2, He tells us how He did it. No contradiction at all -- except in the minds of those who are determined, in spite of all reasonable explanations -- to close their spiritual eyes and see nothing.

Such people remind me of Sgt. Schultz in the old TV series, Hogan's Heroes, "I know nothing! I see nothing!" And, that is the closed spiritual minds of our atheist, secular, and vanilla-flavored non-believing Friends.

I suppose we will just have to continue to pray that they will one day open their eyes and see Jesus Christ standing at the door of their hearts -- waiting patiently for them to invite Him to come in and be their Best Friend (Rev 3:20).

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

I'd say that's more like you just believing the impossible. Talk about closed minded. Funny thing bill, why couldn't your god just make a few more humans while he was at it? Why just one out of dirt and another out of body parts? Oh, but that sounds reasonable eh? Here you have, in your imagination, this grand-capable of anything-god, but he couldn't manage to put more than two people on the earth? hmmmmmmmm Face it, all your twisting doesn't do away with the contradictions in your bible. Just like your silly "there was incest but it wasn't incest but now it's incest" spiel.

Hi Jennifer,

Actually, I cannot say why God did it this way. However, when I get to heaven -- I will ask Him.

Unfortunately, unless you change before that last breath -- you will not be there to hear His answer.

See how much YOU miss by not being a Christian believer?

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

No, I don't miss anything and I have nothing to change in my life. But maybe you should take your own advice. Nice to see you admit you can't explain the contradictions in your bible.

xxxxxxxxxxx

jen,,,Its not a matter of numbers, if God can create Adam or Eve, He can
create a hundred at one time. The thing is we don't know, DNA would be no
problem, He could have thousands from the same DNA just to start the ball
or eggs rolling. Thousands of Adams with the same Dna but different than Eve
could provide millions.

I don't believe incest was ever in the picture.

Hi Jennifer,

This time your atheist logic has you confused. God chose to make one man and one woman to begin the human race. You ask why He didn't create many more instead of just two. And, I tell you that we do not know.

But, how do you get a "contradiction in the Bible" out of that. I will say that is a stretch even for an atheist.

Or, do you just keep throwing it against the wall hoping something will stick?

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Obviously, God has no imagination. OTherwise, he would have come up with something less lame than killing his only son to "save" mankind. This is about the weakest idea that any sentient being ever made up.

And how do you know which is error & which is fact?

In fiction, there are no errors. When you make up a story, you don't have to be concerned with facts.

And you still haven’t answered my question. How do you know which is error & which is fact?

Hi Chick,

True, the Bible does have some copyist errors in it -- but, none that affect the spiritual message God has for all of us in His Written Word, none that affect His message of salvation for all who, by grace, through faith -- will believe.

My challenge to Uno is different. He went to an atheist web site and copied a list of Scripture verses and wants to imply that they are in error or are contradictions.

I have asked Uno to show me the errors in the list he copied and posted.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Bill, it's really not that hard to understand. Here's what you said.
"I would say that it is a copyist error. However, it does not, in any way, change the message of God's Word. The Bible, even with a few copyist errors -- is still the inerrant Written Word of God".

Here's my question. "And how do you know which is error & which is fact"?

It's simple. First he ignores all the contradictions-and the "facts" are the parts he agrees with, errors are the ones he doesn't agree with. Add to that mix the fact he thinks he's the only one that has it right and there you have the gospel according to bill.
Okay, Ladies,

Let's get this back on track. Uno posted, from some atheist web site -- a long list of Scripture verses -- trying to imply that there are contradictions and/or errors.

I took the first group of verses relating to the genealogy of Jesus Christ and showed clearly why there is no contradiction nor error -- merely, two men from different cultures writing the genealogy according to their cultural dictates.

Then, I asked Uno to show me any errors or contradictions he can find in the rest of the Scripture verses.

THIS HE HAS NOT DONE -- for he cannot.

So, referring to this aspect of the discussion; do you have any questions?

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Chickenpoop gutless coward.

there were dozens and dozens of conflicts listed to you by chapter and verse.

put up or shut up, billy.

either you stipulate that the bible contains error, or you copy, pate, quote and defend everything he posted.

line by line, otherwise you are admitting the bible is errent.

got the guts to put your money where your mouth is?

or are you just going to blow it off with a capped bolded one liner and a picture of snoopy?
Hi Nagel,

Anyone can huff and puff and pass gas; but, if you are serious about believing there are errors or contradictions in the Scripture verses/passages Uno posted -- show us.

Keep in mind that we are speaking of what Uno posted.

So, are you all huff, puff, and gas passing -- as usual -- or can you produce?

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Now Bill, which Bible was you useing (SIC) again?

Hi Dwight/Skippy,

I use the NASB, NKJV, KJV, sometimes the NIV. If you will visit the Blue Letter Bible web site at: http://www.blueletterbible.org you can find about 15 translations with good commentaries, Strong's Concordance, and other Scripture study material.

What you will NOT find there is the Book of Mormon -- for they do not put CULT material on this web site.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

can i produce?
i'm not the one who issued the challenge.
i'm not the one dodgeing the challenge.

you claim the bible is inerrent. you claim there is no conflict.
Unob posted a list of places where the bible conflicts.
you scamper away from the challenge by trying to pass the challenge off onto me, when all i did was call you gutless for not trying to defend your bible.

so again, i call you gutless, and a coward for trying to include me in the situation.

i haven't challenged you in any of this, i've only pointed out your failure to answer.

i don't have to produce anything.. i'm still just waiting to see if you have the integrity to defend your own words. which i doubt. you haven't shown any integrity in all the time i've been here, i see no reason why you would start now.

either the bible has conflicting statements, or it does not. Unob has listed many instances where the bible seems to conflict with itself.
now it's your turn to show us that the things he said conflict acctually don't conflict.

don't try and bring me into this, i'm just an observer, and all i observe so far is that unob is standing behind his beliefs while you are running scared, refuseing to show the honor and conviction demonstrated by an lowly godless athiest.

So, are you all bombast and bloat, and a cowering little girl -- as usual -- or do you have the guts to defend your bible and your own words?

Since you ARE saying those Scripture verses or passages contain conflicts -- SHOW ME!

Show me EVEN ONE error or contradiction in those verses which Uno posted.

fine.
while this is yet one more cowardly trick, trying to pass the buck to someone else, typical bill gray doing everything he can to get out of answering a challenge by trying to pass it off to someone else, this time i will play.

here are a few verses that conflict with other verses in the bible, with the nature of the conflict listed to help you identify the problem.
the book, chapter and verse are listed after the listed conflict.

they are usually listed in pairs, such as..

The announcement of the special birth came before conception. Lk.1:26-31.
The announcement of the special birth came after conception. Mt.1:18-21.

( either the announcement came before or after the birth. it can't be both ways - conflict)

with one verse conflicting with the other. but sometimes, there is more than one conflicting verse to each issue. i'm not seperating them all by issue, you can do that yourself.

so there ya go... lots of seeming conflicts all laid out for you. here's your list of conflicting bible verses as supplied by Unob, i look forward to see your proof that none of them conflict. it should be interesting.

here are a few verses that conflict with other verses in the bible, with the nature of the conflict listed to help you identify the problem. the book, chapter and verse are listed after the listed conflict.

they are usually listed in pairs, such as..

The announcement of the special birth came before conception. Lk. 1:26-31. The announcement of the special birth came after conception. Mt. 1:18-21.

( either the announcement came before or after the birth. it can't be both ways - conflict) with one verse conflicting with the other. but sometimes, there is more than one conflicting verse to each issue. i'm not seperating (SIC) them all by issue, you can do that yourself. so there ya go... lots of seeming conflicts all laid out for you. here's your list of conflicting bible verses as supplied by Unob, i look forward to see your proof that none of them conflict. it should be interesting.

Hi Nagel,

So, in all your huffing, puffing, and gas passing -- all you can do is to copy/paste Uno's list -- highlight the first two verses and declare, "There you are!" As is typical with all your posts -- there in NOTHING!

Nagel, if you are going to join in the dialogue, at least put a smidgen of effort into it. You have put nothing into this so far but your excess gas.

So, let's talk about these two Scripture passages which you obviously have not even read. The passage in Luke is the angel Gabriel telling Mary that she had been chosen to be the earthly mother of the human Jesus Christ. Yes, this happened before Jesus Christ was supernaturally conceived in her womb.

The passage in Matthew is the angel Gabriel assuring Joseph that the child in Mary's womb is a supernatural conception from the Holy Spirit. No contradiction, no error -- just two angelic visitations at two different times.

Nagel, if you would have even bothered to wipe the layer of dust off your decorative coffee table Bible, open it, and read these passages -- even you would have seen this.

And, once again, all you can do is, "so there ya go... lots of seeming conflicts all laid out for you. here's your list of conflicting bible verses as supplied by Unob"

I am still waiting for YOU, NAGEL, to show us EVEN ONE conflict, error, or contradiction in that list supplied by Uno's atheist web site. It definitely appears that ALL you can do is huff, puff, and pass gas -- then, accuse another of being lazy. I am surprised you can even muster the energy to type your feeble posts.

So, either SHOW US these errors and conflicts you keep ranting about -- or, let's just let this slide as more of Nagel passing gas! And, we can move on to more productive efforts -- while you sit and pass your gas.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Bill reminds me of a re-run of an old TV show (comedy). A woman brought her teenaged daughter into an ER and told the doctors that the girl was having horrible stomach pains. They looked at the very obviously pregnant girl and told the mom her daughter was most likely in labor. The girl yelled "I ain't pregnant momma"! They get her on the bed, examine her, and say "the baby is coming." The girl yells, "I ain't pregnant momma"! Then the doctor says the baby is crowning. Again the girls yells "I ain't pregnant momma"! Next they deliver the baby and tell them it's a girl. The girl yells "I ain't pregnant momma"! I think that was on the old series ER that George Clooney starred in.

This is bills act. Even when you show him the contradictions he still acts like he doesn't see them. Ask him a question and either he doesn't see it or you're attacking his family. But he wants to be taken seriously. How can we take you seriously bill?

yeah.. /sigh

and here's me, giving up. it's like argueing with a brain damaged chihuahua. he latches onto an idea and can't even see there are other options, much less that he's chosen the wrong one.

the really funny part of this newest failed attempt at conversation with bill is that he thinks he's won the debate. he doesn't even see that the rest of us are watching him run away from the chance to defend his bible and his claims of its perfection.

if there were soemthing i believed in that strongly, i'd jump at the chance to stand up for it, yet bill slinks away.

I don't think bill thinks he's won. He knows he hasn't. That's why he avoids the questions, posts his "sermons", and claims that his family is being attacked.

Hi Crusty,

No, the copyist errors are legitimate. However, for a more complete answer -- jump on over to my new discussion titled "Is The Bible Inerrant?"

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,
