If you are a regular reader of the paper, you are familiar with Cosby. His letters are always full of conspiracy-theories and crazy rhetoric. Those of you calling this letter intelligent need to look up the meaning of the word--I think you are using it wrong. I would call his letter the paranoid ramblings of a fear-mongering sore loser.

Okay, I went back and reread the letter. I don’t remember ever reading one of his letters before.

He calls obama

a socialist. That’s true.
a Muslim supporter. Well he is Muslim influenced for sure.
an associate of known terrorists (William Ayers). That’s true.
a member of a cult like church. That’s true.

Mr. Cosby’s letter says “the color of Hussein Obama's skin does not trouble me, but his politics certainly do”. What’s wrong with that other than his political beliefs are different from yours. I see no conspiracy-theories or crazy rhetoric.

I also fear the politics of obama. I think we’re in for a rough ride. I hope he proves me wrong.
I couldn't find anything I disagreed with either in Mr. Cosby's letter. If he is writing 2 to 3 letters a month to this left wingnut editorial page THE MORE POWER TO HIM. At least the readers will get a little REALISTIC input and not all hail to Obama.

I've often wondered why the left sees it a racist to call Obama by his full name?

De Nile is a river in Egypt, not a state to live in.

ONLY 1450 DAYS UNTIL THE NEXT PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.
I think the reason some people think it is racist to call Obama by his middle name is the obvious connotations that name has because of the actions of others with the same name. But, I guess it isn't any more insulting than the way Pres. Bush came to be called Dubya--except I can't think of any terrorist called Dubya. I guess both sides just try to rib the other side by coming up with a nickname they think will rile the other side. Kinda like back on the playground when you would call some kid something other than their real name just to get a rise out of them. But you're right--it is his given middle name, so I guess it's fair game. You know, sticks and stones...
It IS the name his father and mother named him. NOT a nickname. What your side is saying, at least what I'm hearing, is anyone with an Arabic name is associated with terrorism. There are alot of Husseins in this world who are not terrorist. I think Bush likes his "nickname" - W is HIS middle initial as well. I know Obama wished his middle name was Steve, but it isn't.

So is this quote not in his silly book?

From Audacity of Hope: 'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.

I know he said this because I was watching when he said it.

my Muslim faith - b. Hussein obama

Do you deny this also?

Simple answer to your first question: NO! that "quote" is NOT in The Audacity of Hope. Many uninformed or malicious sources have reported it to be in Obama's book, but it is NOT. Next time you go into a bookstore of library (assuming you might at times darken the door of such establishments), find a copy of the book and turn to pages 260 and 261 and you can read the correct quote. I have excerpted it verbatim below, but if you do not trust me, then go look at the book!

“In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” (The Audacity of Hope, pages 260-261)

Now look hard and tell me just where even the word, "Muslim" or "Muslims" appears in the actual quote. Compare the actual quote with the one distributed all over the place by lying, scheming weasels and you will see that Obama was pledging to defend the rights of AMERICAN CITIZENS and was not making any kind of categorical pledge to side with Muslims on any or all issues that might arise.

As to "my Muslim religion," what Obama meant to say in the context of that discussion, was that McCain and McCain's campaign staff had not participated in the unscrupulous rumormongering to the effect that Obama either was or might be a closet Muslim. This is pretty evident within the transcript of this part of the Stephanopolous interview, but that wi ll mean little or nothing to you and others who have little regard for context, relying instead upon the isolated words, "my Muslim faith" in the misguided attempt to "prove" that which is NOT proven. Here is the transcript:

OBAMA: Let’s not play games. What I was suggesting — you’re absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith. And you’re absolutely right that that has not come–
STEPHANOPOULOS: Christian faith.
OBAMA: — my Christian faith. Well, what I’m saying is that he hasn’t suggested–
STEPHANOPOULOS: Has connections, right.
OBAMA: — that I’m a Muslim. And I think that his campaign’s upper echelons have not, either.
The leftards have routinely skewered conservative figures that have made even more insignificant gaffes (Dan Quayle, for example).

It's just your turn now. Get used to it.

It's a well-established fact that leftards have no sense of humor and simply cannot take a joke without filing a lawsuit. Remember, during his college years, Barack went by "Barry Obama". After people or groups unknown to us funded his college education and paid for his trip to Pakistan, he changed his name back to Barack.

I intend to keep reminding everyone of this until it is no longer fun.

You are welcome to all the cheap and irrelevant thrills you can gin up to salve your post-election misery. As to financing of Obama's education, I can only tell you what I have had to tell so many other equally-gullible conspiracy theorists; snopes.com is your friend and helper. Nah. I'll continue having fun doing the libtard thing by tossing about innuendo without regard for facts. Something the denizens of the left have elevated to a high art form.

When you're under pressure sometimes the truth just pops out.

Take heed to your own words.

quote:
what Obama meant to say

You don't know what he meant to say. That's cover up by his campaign and you PARROT it just like you have all the other DEMOCRAT TALKING POINTS

Thank you. I seem to have learned well from the masters of obfuscation, the libtards on this forum. You are not quite as practiced as JJP, but continue in your quest for enlightenment.
