Drivers traveling County Rd 7 (Sharps Mill road) exceed the 35 MPH limit in all weather conditions day or night. It is perhaps safe enough (however not legal) if you know the road, however County Rd 7 has dangerous curves and deep ditches in many places. Traveling this road tonight while it was raining I noticed the centerline and edge marking were all but invisible due to faded paint and the wet pavement. Point is please slow down when conditions are less than ideal and that means less than the legal limit of 35 MPH.

Sharps Mill Road or County Road 7 is the most neglected road in the county, there has been many fatalities on this road because of the neglect, I have lived on and traveled this road for many many years, the bridge on Whites Lake is a one car bridge, you are in grave danger if you even try to get two cars on that bridge, usually one car stops on the other side to let the other car go across and it is a give and take issue, you never know if the car that is stopped will try to go across. The road has been paved at least one time in 17 years that I remember and that was in patches and then they never came back to smooth out the shoulders of the roads, some of the shoulders are at least 1/2 foot high, so if you can drive this road you are qualified to be a race car driver. All of the people that live and drive on this road see the little crosses where someones loved one has been killed a some of their own. A lot of the roads in the county especially in Central have been paved and repaved and I am sure that everyone that lives on this forgotten county road 7 pays their taxes and pays their dues, maybe it will take a lawsuit to make someone who has the care and ability to do something about this road. I have to see the crosses each day I travel on that road to go to Florence to shop and pay City Taxes as all of the county but no one seems to care that the families of the victims of this terrible road have to see the same thing, no other way out but to travel this road if you live on it, if so you have to got far out of the way. If someone would do what they should do and care about the people traveling this road somthing would be done to repair the roads, they are basically worn out and if it rains any at all it is like driving on ice and the shoulders if you make a mistake and drive off that which is easy to do then you could easily lose control of your car and maybe that is why a lot of deaths and accidents have happened. Someone should consider that we do no have golf courses on this road or malls but we do have people that we love that take theie lives into their hands each time they travel this unforgotten road with many crosses.
