CP Violation?

all over the news in the science world what appears at a confidence level of 3.5 sigma are cillision results of CP violation at the LHCb

all the articles i've read advises caution as to the results.

the last article of several i read had this interesting observation"

"I’ll leave it to the trained philosophers in the audience to find the logical flaw in that argument.  Try substituting “George Washington” and “cherry trees” for “CP violation” and “baryogenesis.”

The point is that the conclusion doesn’t hold — not everything about CP violation is necessarily related to baryogenesis.  We don’t know how baryogenesis actually happened — there are many theories on the market, and any of them or none of them may be right.  Therefore, there’s no way of knowing whether any particular manifestation of CP violation is in any way related to baryogenesis.  There could be lots of different ways in which CP is violated.  In particular, there’s no compelling theoretical reason why the CP violation being studied in the decays of B mesons has anything at all to do with baryogenesis.  It’s possible — lots of things are possible.  But what’s being studied isn’t baryogenesis; it’s CP violation.

So why isn’t that enough?  The answer is obvious — explaining why we are here seems to be something that a wider audience can get excited by more directly than studying the details of a slightly-broken symmetry.  The only problem is that it’s not true; these experiments aren’t really studying why we are here.

We can’t blame journalists for this one; here is a case where they are just reporting what the scientists tell them, and the scientists are quite willing to be shameless.  I understand the motivation for being shameless — it’s hard to explain the details, and the results are legitimately interesting.  But ultimately I don’t think it’s right to say untrue things in the name of getting people excited about true things.

I would therefore like to see particle physicists take a slightly more honest tack about the importance of CP violation.  It’s perfectly okay to say that it gives us insight into the difference between matter and antimatter — that’s true.  And that should be enough!  It’s not okay to say that it gives us insight into the imbalance between matter and antimatter in our observable universe; it’s completely possible (even likely) that such a statement is simply false.  If we get people excited about what we’re doing by causing them to misunderstand what that actually is, we’re ultimately not winning."

Still don't see the hurray over most of this. We've know of tachyons -- subatomic particles that travel from the future to the past. Its even been theorized that communication might be possible by arranging them in short and long bursts -- Morse code.

Its my understanidng time travel will be a lab experiment by 2012 and probes sent into the past by 2017, with human by 2021.

Well I’m disappointed the big bang scientists on here dressed up as atheist didn’t protest. I guess I gave them credit from knowing their ***from a whole in the ground about science too quickly. Usually they claim every noise at night has to do with proving the banger theory. This article just shows the apparent disgust with the atheist by scientists. This article as it should do tells them in a nice way to butt out.

Symmetry breaking shortly after a big bang is not the proof here.

"If we get people excited about what we’re doing by causing them to misunderstand what that actually is, we’re ultimately not winning."[ from the article]

quote:
Grandiose delusion or delusions of grandeur is principally a subtype of delusional disorder (GD) that can occur as a wide range of mental illness, including in two thirds of those in manic state of bipolar disorder, half those with schizophrenia and a substantial portion of those with substance abuse disorders.[1][2] GDs are characterized by fantastical beliefs that one is famous, omnipotent, wealthy, or otherwise very powerful. The delusions are generally fantastic and typically have a supernatural, science-fictional, or religious theme.

Bless your heart you do try though lexum. I will give you that much. You're way to see through though.

No DD you can’t insult your way out of ignorance about science. The point about this is: you atheist birds call believers ignorant and claim they don’t know anything about science. The truth is science recognizes that you agenda driven suckers give science the bad name. You are getting yourself excited by causing yourselves misunderstanding about what actually is.

Dd if you don’t know the significance of this experiment or what it’s all about you need to learn .

Until you do you need to keep your ignorance to yourself.

If you have something scientific to say about this experiment I’m glad to hear it.

I take it from your answer this subject is one of many regarding science that if someone left the keys in it you might try and drive it as did the likes of dawkins and hitchens “not knowing who taught you nor by what authority you learn’t it.[plato]

I honestly couldn't care less about dawkins or hitchens. My replies here are to try and help you with your mental illness. There is help out there available for people like you. All you have to do is take the first step toward recovery.

Nobody else can do it for you though. You have to take that first step yourself.

DD, I see someone left the keys in human behavior and you are trying drive it.lol

If you don’t have any scientific input other than you do by being hateful,

Go to school bully. Don’t assume everyone should slide down to your level of education.

Legalization of marijuana seems to the subject in the news today possibly there is hope for society regarding you.

DD I doubt if your concern is genuine so don’t put yourself out on my behalf.

I am curious as to why you are compelled to interrupt my post with ignorance.

I’m confident you don’t understand the science to begin with and that in a nutshell is my complaint.

Your group constantly accuses believers of being stupid and not knowing that science says there is no Creator. Science makes no such argument.

This is a plea DD on behalf of science. Not a joke as you seem to see it.

If you do not understand this science, there are thousands more facets of science you couldn’t understand.

Scientist insist on the facts and if you follow science close enough they are not in the business of being on your side. They are focused on truth and nothing else.

When you have studied science truthfully you will see the gaps in all science that are not filled to guarantee any science as being true.

When you have read every word of Feynman, Bohm, Heisenberg and other nineteenth and twentieth century scientists, have at least a conversational knowledge and understanding of my avatar, read the past and present physics of Fermilab, and currently the LHC I might consider you other than an idiot who’s only expertise is in proving it. So let it bode.

I ask you kindly to not bother me any more.
