I'm quick to complain when something goes wrong but I'm also equally quick to compliment a vendor when they do something right.  Not long ago I had purchased some Premium Brake Pads at Advanced Auto Parts on Florence, Blvd and had them installed on my front wheels by Precision Tune, beside KFC, on Cox Creek Parkway.  The pads were supposed to be "lifetime" pads and replaced if defective by the dealer who sold them.

In my case with less than 10,000 miles on my truck I began hearing that grinding sound coming from my front right wheel and it didn't take long to trace it to the brake pads.  I returned to Precision Tune and sure enough they revealed to me that the pad was indeed defective only the pad also had eaten into the rotor and I was advised that the original manufacturer Rotor was too worn down to turn it  and restore it.  The diagnosis was I needed to replace both front rotors and both front pads.

I called Advanced Auto Parts and spoke with, I suppose, the manager and advised him of where I was, why I was there and what had happened.  To my great satisfaction Advanced Auto Parts decided not only to replace the front pads but they also replaced the one rotor that was destroyed by the pad.  Many places may be expected to replace the pads, since even the manufacturer's box stated they would be replaced, but not many would replace the rotor which they did and at the very least they should be recognized for going above and beyond.  Maybe it was what they should do but I do know that it's not what many would do.
