Dancing with the Stars?

I'm not sure why you even posted this, and why in the religion forum? Sonny knew about his daughter and he wasn't happy. They were estranged. Sad that he would put conditions on his love for his child. He's not thinking anything now, he's been dead since 1998.

Funny. What's the deal? Only straight people allowed to dance with the stars? Oh my, what if they, gasp, get an atheist on there?

Sorry skippy, I guess I don't have an opinion on this. I realize that lots of people are really into that show(and other shows like it) but I am not one of them.

I'm surprised it sparked any controversy, but FTR, Chaz would not be allowed to compete in the Olympics as a man. Also, FTR, he hasn't had the final reassignment surgery...and may never have it done.

Chaz is a scary person regardless of gender.

Personally, I don't care. I never watched the show simply because I think it's stupid. A dancing bearded lady isn't enough to draw me in.

 

Adding Chaz is a classic producer's trick. Controversy = high ratings. If people are talking about it, good or bad, it will draw in high ratings. The premier and the finale are the two highest rated shows of the season. Get high ratings for the premier and you're more likely to get high ratings for the finale.

 

Controversy = Ratings = Money. Chaz is on the show not to push an agenda, but to make the network and producers money. Wait and see, this premier will be one of their highest rated shows.

Nashbama is right, it is all for publicity and ratings. Bristol Palin got the same kind of response and really, does anyone think she is a star? Famous for getting pregnant as a teenager and that is about it!

 

It is a dancing competition (which I don't watch) so what is the big deal about who participates, regardless of their gender, sexuality, etc.

P.S. - I wish I was as butch as Chaz! lol

It's not falling for anything. It's no secret they'd do whatever to have high ratings, there's not one show that doesn't do that. I've never seen the show and they'd have to do a lot better than chaz, the kardashians (why are these people famous???), whatever, to get me to watch. I doubt I'd even know about these reality shows if they weren't always putting articles about them on the yahoo homepage. Skippy, do you even watch the show? If you do, what will having chaz on there do to you personally?  I guess what I'm asking you is why you have a problem with the way this person lives their life? I'm not trying to be mean, I would really like to know why.

My problem is with all the crappy so called reality/ talent shows that are taking over the programming of the networks and cable television. No I don’t watch them. I understand why their on because of the ratings. I’ve got nothing against Chaz personally, but I do dislike the freak show that television is becoming. I know that’s the way it is, but I just lone for the good sitcoms and informational programming that is slowly fading into the sunset. It reminds me of the 70’s when the all-mighty game shows ruled. Jeopardy the exception.

Yes, tv is mostly a freak show, but not because of people like chaz bono because I don't think he is a freak.

I have a question for you. You seem to think it's perfectly OK for Chaz to be what and who he is. (And I agree with you.) The Republican party for the most part, is against *** rights. I know you're a Republican, and I know that, as a Democrat, I don't go along with EVERYTHING my party believes. So my question is, where do YOU stand on things like *** marriage? Is this one of the things you disagree with your party on?
