Trader- I was asking because I thought I knew him also. My dad sold racing parts and he had a customer by this name. However this guy was from Colbert Heights and I don't think he was married. Could you find out what class he raced in and what car number he was? You can pm it to me if you prefer. I would like to ask my Dad if he knew him and get him to read what you wrote. I am hoping my Dad will stop smoking. If he knew who you were talking about it may make even more of an impact.
I am sorry for the loss of your friend. I am also sorry for the rude comments posted on here.
Mother...
After being on the forum for some time, I have come to the conclusion, the various personalities that melt into the forum pot is what makes it interesting..
What is said about Danny can no longer hurt him, nor does is have any affect on me, as I knew my friend to be a decent man with all of the fralities that all humans carry with us until we get rid of this earthly form.
I just feel pride that he asked me to tell his story after his was gone. He wanted so desperately to get across to the individuals are still smoking, that if they continue to do so,the price they may have to pay will be more horrendious than they ever imagined.
He had tears in his eyes as he talked about this. He knew many would not listen,(he stated he was one of those, so he does not make any judgement on anyone who doesn't) but if he prevented just one future smoking death, at least his finale wish would be answered.
I kept noticing this post coming back to the top, so I thought I would read it. WOW what a touching story!!! I didn't know Danny, MY LOSS. My thoughts and prayers are with you, also. I printed this story and hope that my husband will read it and that it will have some effect on his smoking. I try not to say to much about it, cause I don't like to nag or B****. But it would be sooooo wonderful if he would stop BEFORE it's to late.
Danny Smith (my husband) was a one of a kind.I have seen times that he would call me at home and let me know that he was working late. I remember one evening a lady was from out of town (Florida). He stayed late that night just to get her back on the road. She was so thankful to him. That is a Man with a great heart! He did however get a chance to get saved and get baptized. So now when I get to missing, at least I have a great chance to be with him again one day. I am now trying to find a church that I will feel comfortable in ,so I will be sure to see My Husband again, because I miss him so much everyday. Thanks you all for the thoughts and prayer! Got Jesus?
It is so nice to see you on here telling the world how much you loved your husband and what a good man he was. I did now him but can tell he must have been a great man and he obviously had a very devoted wife. Time will ease the pain but not erase it completely but just from what you have said about your husband I am sure he would not want you to spend one minute sad but happy about the time you had together. Look to your loved ones, get out and take a walk in Spring Park, or just have coffee with a friend and know that your husband is watching out for you! Mrs. Smith, your in my prayers tonight.
