How deep can the cookie jar of Cherokee be?
And what power other than a title do these people seek.

The last time I drove through Cherokee you dont even have to slow down....just keep driving 65. These clowns dont even have enough pull to get the speed limit dropped?

Do they even have a police officer in Cherokee?

C.O.B.R.A. you are not correct in many of your statements. The people that started the "stalking" in the first place was Mignon & her followers. They have circled businesses and council/board members houses for a LONG time. It is a fact that they have been seen leaving their houses & making their rounds (not going anywhere in particular) & then going back home - they do this countless times per the instructions of Mignon. The main "agenda" the Mayor has had is helping Cherokee & he has done way more for the Town in the past than Mignon ever did. If the council 4 were not listening to Mignon, he could do more now. While everything that is going on is sad, people are sick & tired of that bunch & are fighting back the only way they can, since certain people seem to keep skirting the law. Another fact you have WRONG - I just read your update on your blog - Chuck DID NOT LOSE to Mignon - when Mignon ran for Mayor, she ran against William (Bill) Mayfield, Chuck did not run because of obligations with work & taking care of his wife. When the next election came around, Mignon knew that everyone was disgusted already with her, & she knew that everything she did in Tupelo was about to come out. That's why Chuck was unopposed - he is definitely not perfect, no one is, but he works hard on grants & trying to get all the dept.s working together. I sincerely believe that you want everyone to work together & you are right that people need to forgive & that some things done are "in the past"...BUT, a person has to ask for forgiveness & admit wrongdoing for people to feel differently about them. Mignon has never admitted she is/was wrong regarding anything - you need to read the lawsuits against her in Florida & what happened in Tupelo. A jury found against her & she's still trying to get out of it. Remember the old saying "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me"? People are just very aware of what she is capable of (& her followers) & trying to fight against it. What's the common denominator in the City Council problems, Water Board problems, Library problems, Church problems, Study Club problems, Florida Lawsuits, & Tupelo Lawsuits????? One person. Again I commend you for wanting this all to end & it's fine if you don't care for Chuck, but you need to open your eyes about Mignon & be understanding of the people that are sick & tired of it. Please consider this & correct your facts.

The ex-mayor of Cherokee, a small town in Colbert County north of Birmingham has been ordered by a court in Tupelo Mississippi to reimburse Rehab Solutions, of Tupelo, for failing to perform her responsibilities.

Mignon Willis was elected and served one term as mayor of Cherokee, a small town of about 1,500 people. She decided not to run for re-election.

She has not been charged with any crime but was taken to court for negligence for not paying the company bills as was her responsibilities while employed with the family owned Rehab Solutions.

She told reported that she was very disappointed in the judgment against her and that she had the right to appeal it but would not say whether or not she would do so. She added that it was a family business owned by a brother and sister, to whom she is a cousin.

She has also been involved in controversy in the town of Cherokee. Some residents have accused her of influencing the votes of certain councilmen which has caused division with the now mayor and those councilmen. She denies this.

Rebecca Narmore, Cherokee city attorney, attended the court trial and reported that certified public accountants testified that Willis did not perform her duties and intentionally tried to cover up the negligence. They also said she had not recorded any bank reconciliation since

Paw -paw, I see the words "FAMILY ", "NOT CHARGED WITH ANY CRIME ", "ACCUSED ". What I don't see is that these same "FAMILY MEMBERS " were also suing some of their other "FAMILY "at the same time. I also don't see where Mignon was asked to pay only 25 thousand to make the suit go away and she refused because she did nothing wrong so because she regused she got hit up for the entire 186. Don't see her paying that either. Check deeper, ALL records should have public access. And Cherokee, 99% of the records St your town hall are open to You. Quit with the witch hunts already.

Wasn't it Mignon that prompted concerned citizens of Cherokee to call the telephone company because she was up there using the company's computers for hours? I wouldn't want someone like her having access to my personal information.

Sounds like she has been the one doing the stalking. Why would she need to use those computers when they have a library that I'm sure has internet access for the public.

And to be perfectly clear...I would be glad to let sleeping dogs lie, if troublemakers would stop making trouble! I would very much like for everyone to stop hurting people. But some people count on things dying down, so that they can continue to do the underhanded stuff that they want. Once you've been hurt by someone, you just need to be aware - esp. when that someone doesn't mind hurting people.
