I stopped by Dee Dee’s Outpost 72 this evening, to check them out. On a scale of 1-5, with 1 being the worse; 3 being average; and 5 being good, I will share my experiences with you. My selected meal this evening, chicken fingers platter with a side of bake beans, cole slaw and bread.
The chicken fingers were delicious. They definitely rated a 5 for appearance, portion, flavor, tenderness. The accompanying honey mustard sauce also rated good.
The baked beans also rated a 5 for appearance, portion, and flavor.
I could only rate the slaw at a 3. Once again the portion was large, but the flavor was average at best.
Two small hushpuppies came with the platter. They rated a 2 for flavor and 4 for appearance giving them an overall rating of 3.
I picked up some additional chicken fingers to go for another family member, who also enjoyed as much as I did. I also picked up a small fish filet plate for another family member, who commented that it too was good. But since they didn’t share any with me, I can’t comment on that.
As with most new restaurants, there are still some things to be worked out, and I was informed that the menu will be changing in January 2010. The service was a little slow, but hopefully will improve as things progress.
