"The newfound civility didn’t last long. Political rhetoric in Congress doesn’t get much nastier than the words of one House Democrat during the debate on repealing the health care law.

In an extraordinary outburst on the House floor, Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) invoked the Holocaust to attack Republicans on health care and compared rhetoric on the issue to the work of infamous Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels.

“They say it's a government takeover of health care, a big lie just like Goebbels," Cohen said. "You say it enough, you repeat the lie, you repeat the lie, and eventually, people believe it. Like blood libel. That's the same kind of thing. And Congressman Cohen didn’t stop there
The Germans said enough about the Jews and people believed it--believed it and you have the Holocaust. We heard on this floor, government takeover of health care. Politifact said the biggest lie of 2010 was a government takeover of health care because there is no government takeover," Cohen said."

The liberals on here are going to rip him to shreds for using that term, look what they did to Palin for using those words.
I wouldn't consider Republicans Nazis, that's the wrong form of Fascism. The republican party is more about the Italian form of Fascism.

both parties are following this plan. The argument is, do you want it implemented by the state(Communism) or by the corporations(fascism).
The two party charade is straight out of the Hegalian Dialectic.

The article said he was speaking to an empty chamber, with no press.

Cohen made his comments late last night, but they have attracted no attention because his speech was made to a virtually empty House chamber with no reporters around to watch.

It will take a while for this to surface.

It seems that the civility Obama wanted was heard by the left as being directed at the right, and by the right as being directed at the left.

There was a period of civility? You mean the two seconds after the dems ran amok for over 5 days spewing their hate talk and lies until "his highness" saw other's reactions and told them to "cool it" a bit?
Republicans have been calling me a socialist and/or a communist for years now. And they call our president that daily. It would be nice if BOTH sides could turn down the rhetoric and get down to the issues.

In this case, the issue is that the Republicans HAVE been lying when they call it "government takeover of healthcare."

Mussolini always considered himself a son of the left. Fascism isn't corporatism, as it controls private enterprise for the benefit of the state. German national socialism was always a left wing movement. While described as a right wing movement, that is a partial translation of the German communists who described the NDSDAP as the right wing of the extreme left wing.

Always said the only difference between the Nazis and communists were the NSDAP had better tailors. Both wore jackboots and did the goose step. Chicoms and Norks still do!

So, you like the NSDAP uniforms! Would that be the khaki SD uniform with the Sam Brown belt or the SS black uniform! SD tended to be gay and twisted. After the Night of the Long Knives, they migrated to the Home State Police (Gestapo). The SS were straight, but really twisted -- think S&M. Very Interesting!
