Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Democrat Socialist, defeated Congressman Joe Crowley in the Democrat primary for the NYC district mostly including the Queens borough. She's for free everything, like most socialists, with no idea how to pay for it, except end capitalism and replace it with a state command economy. That's worked so well, elsewhere. Beating Crowley, an old time Demmie politician many thought would replace Pelosi, is the future of the Democrat party. The Democrats are eating their own as they go further left -- far left. I'll wish them Bon Appétit!
While the only NYC borough Republicans can carry is Staten Island, I hope the RNC pumps a bit extra financial support to her Republican opposition, especially in debates. (Crowley refused to debate her). The extreme differences would be educational to NYC and the nation.
