During all the Wedding hoopla I just wondered what Williams last Name was? here is what I found.

In 1917 King George V issued a Proclomation that all the Male Decendants from that date forth would be called by the surname Windsor, now we have the House of Windsor.

Before the change it was Mountbatten. I tried to copy and paste but some of these things don't co-operate

I've always heard Windsor but I noticed his military name is William Wales. Wondered why?

Dont know, he was registered in College as William Wales, the name changing came about because of WWI

George V or Victoria had German Descendants and Germany bombed England.
