Then tell us about it and tell us why it oculd not have been anything else.

If any of you can come up with conclusive proof of ANY type of paranormal event, you can earn a MILLION BUCKS just by showing it to these folks:

http://www.randi.org/research/index.html

This challenge has been going on for years and not one soul has collected the money. Therefore, ghosts, goblins, water witching and mind reading simply do not exist. To say differently is simply self-delusional.

I wish that weren't the case but that's the way it is. Sorry.
Similar, I take two welding rods, bend each at about 1/3. Hold em parallel, cross where you think the line is, when the two cross each other, the X marks the spot. Go about ten to twenty feet and repeat. draw a line from first X to Second X, this should be pretty close to the water. I assume not many believe me or otherwise I would not be giving that info out. I have used this and have seen it used many times by others.
Old timers used to use sticks, but I believe the rods work better.

This topic was covered before back around June 12. To save my lazy self a lot of typing, here is the link to what I said then.

Go Fish, I'd bet my lunch money you were the kid in elementary school who prowled the playground telling the other kids there was no Santa! And SC was the one right behind you with the book proving it! I can see her in pigtails with missing front teeth saying, "NO! There is no Santa, look here on page 3! It says ......"

Used to work with an old man from Red Bay who used bent coat hanger rods to find buried water lines, phone lines, and drainage pipe. I asked him about it, and he showed me how. It really is amazing how those rods cross over buried something. Never used it tho to find water or where to dig a well.
Are you an old man from Red Bay?

There's NO Santa?
Confused Confused Confused Confused Confused Confused Confused Confused
Go Fish, there is one thing that happened that I didn't relate in the former post.

For lack of anything better, we referred to the
"ghost" there as George.
The house was built on a hillside so that the back of the house was about 6feet above the ground, and gave a basement. Directely under the toilet, was a hole , kinda like a well that was about 20 feet deep. No water in the bottom tho, sounded like mud throwing in a rock.
At any rate, when I vacated the house, and turned the keys back to the owner, I ask him about the history, and if he knew anything of a ghost. He said that the story was that the man who built the house was married to an Indian woman, and that he had killed her and thrown her in the well under the house. It was her ghost that haunted the place.
A year or so passed, and I met the future wife. She and some of her friends had and interest in ghost, UFO's etc, so I told her about the "ghost" in the old house, but not the part about the Indian woman, as I had actually forgotten it. She wanted to see it, so we got 2 other couples and went down for a "ghost walk party"
She took a Ouji board. Now, I never had much use of a Ouji board, as I religated them to something high school girls used to "predict" what boy they would marry , and how many kids they would have.
At any rate, we went there, and sure enough, at 11pm the walking about upstairs started.
Wife-to-be and one of her girlfriends took out the Ouji, and started playing with it.
I asked her to ask if whatever (whoever) they were "talking" to was the ghost I referred to as George. Answer, yes. I then ask them to find out the real name, they spelled out Tonika ( I believe, at any rate a female Indian name).
Thats when the hair on the back of my neck went up! I ask them to ask what happened . Answer was "killed, in well".
Then, I related what the owner had told me and told them of the well under the house.
We all left promptly!
Thats been 37 years ago this next Oct, but it still gives me chills to think about it.
Believe me or not, explain this to your own satisfaction if you want, but these things happened, and I don't really have any explanation.

Well, of course it's been going on for years.
It has to be conclusive proof according to their standards. As long as they keep saying "sorry, that isn't enough proof" no money has to be shelled out.
Duhhhhh.......

I dont have to prove anything to GoFish... im not impressed by him or his posts. He dissed my dead mother, maybe in an attempt to be humorous. Ive read his posts and agreed with nothing he says,. maybe i just need to mute. I hate negative people. Just glad i dont work for him or i would have already kicked his ass. And Unc i too have seen people witch water for wells, it works. Ive also heard stories of ghosts like excelman has mentioned, i was a little skeptical but after my own dealings, i think its possible. And i certainly wouldnt call anyone a liar. People see what they see. And lot of it is in fun. But to totally deny it is ignorant. And yes there is a Santa Claus.

Complete crap.

If you are so confident you have these special powers, please bring fame and fortune unto yourself and our town by contacting the Randi Foundation mentioned earlier. There's a million dollars for you if you can do it under controlled conditions.

Hmmm . . . Moth, Moth-er, mother . . . Okay, perhaps you have something. How do you know that wasn't MY dead mom?

I dissed a moth that flew in front of your camera just as it flashed, dude. Nothing more.

dollars.

what's in your wallet?....
You're promised money for slaying the dragon , so you slay the dragon. Then the head honcho says you have to prove it's a dragon and not just a large lizard...LOL.

How about if it's flipped around and i say i'll give a million to anyone that can prove to me that there ARE NO ghosts, BUT the proof has to meet my standards and be approved by me Big Grin
I just can't believe in the ghosties folks. If I did, then I'd never ever get to sleep at night! It is much easier to discount ghosts, werewolves, vampires, and the like to fantasy and fiction. Then I can get a good night's sleep and not worry about whether or not there is a boogeyman under my bed, if I shut the closet door or left it cracked, and if that really is just the wind in the attic.

I will tell you this. Back in the day my dad and Uncle Pete attempted to spend the night in the Bell Witch Cave. At the time someone was offering quite a bit of cash to anyone who could do it, unarmed. They made it for a while, and here is where the story gets odd. Dad said it was Pete, and Pete says it was Dad - but both say the other heard and saw the exact same thing (a phantom of a woman with long stringy hair) and the place went absolutely cold. Both says the other was so scared he felt sorry for him so they had to leave. If Dad was still around, I'd get more particulars, but that was a ghost story that he'd tell that would chill me to the bone!

Once again, none of you are using your head.

The Foundation has two goals: Number one is to discredit scam artists who make wild claims and bilk ignorant folks out of hard earned cash. Number two is to hopefully actually prove the existence of something supernatural.

Part of the awarding of the million bucks involves the right to use your abilities for publication. You turn over certain rights to your abilities so that the Randi foundation can make some money. It's not unlike American Idol winners.

Can you imagine the incredible fame and unimaginable wealth one could gain from being the discoverer of the fist concrete, scientifically proven evidence of paranormal or supernatural abilities? Such proof would be even bigger that the first man on the moon or discovery of extraterrestrial life. Such a discovery would rock our world. I would instantly turn into a believer who would beg God for forgiveness every day for the rest of my life!

Randi doesn't stand to lose a penny. He stands to gain the world. The person who has the ability would be treated as royalty and earn far more than a paltry million bucks. Heck a few decades ago, a charlatan got rich and famous simply from benind spoons "with his mind" before he was "outed" by Randi who performed the same trick without doing anything spooky. Anyone remember Uri Geller?

Water Witching is one of the most common abilities tested by the Foundation. After hundreds of tests, no one can seem to find water any better than using your own nose. But if you can, I want to be your friend.

Yo, threatening my online persona (which is actually nothing like the "me" in real life) is about as stupid as your belief that your momma was a moth in front of a camera. And all that because I don't believe in ghosts? Man, oh man.

I'm not surprised that a supposed "Christian" would threaten me with violence. Typical hypocrite.
