Scientists may have cured cancer last week.

Yep.

So, why haven't the media picked up on it?

Here's the deal. Researchers at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada found a cheap and easy to produce drug that kills almost all cancers. The drug is dichloroacetate, and since it is already used to treat metabolic disorders, we know it should be no problem to use it for other purposes.

Doesn't this sound like the kind of news you see on the front page of every paper?

The drug also has no patent, which means it could be produced for bargain basement prices in comparison to what drug companies research and develop.

Scientists tested DCA on human cells cultured outside the body where it killed lung, breast and brain cancer cells, but left healthy cells alone. Rats plump with tumors shrank when they were fed water supplemented with DCA.

I did not read it. In my opinion as much money as people have poured in all together as long as they are making money I doubt they will find a complete cure for all of it on purpose just to keep money coming in.
I read the article in the paper linking obesity with cancer, Alabama by stastics is ranked number 7 for obesity, but ranked 37 as to cancer incidence per 100,000 people, for stastics obesity rate http://www.statemaster.com/graph/hea_obe_rat-health-obesity-rate and the incidence per 100,000 people http://www.statemaster.com/graph/hea_can_inc_per_100-ca...ncidence-per-100-000 but also the states of Utah, Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana also has a higer rate of selenium which has been reported to help slow down the rate of cancer.
I believe our Government does not want a cure for cancer to be discovered. Since we, as a society, have bought into Marxism and we now take care of people via medicare/medicaid/social security/SSI/disability checks/etc. it is to the Government's advantage that people die (the sooner the better). The longer people live the more the Government has to pay.

Consider this, if enough money were channeled into cancer research...a cure could/would be found. The Cancer Research crowd maintains this position...if only they had enough money a cure would be found. But, what do we see our Government doing? Instead of bankrolling cancer research we are spending $30 million per hour (according to a December 2007 Time Magazine article) in Iraq. Now $30 million an hour may not sound like much to Jimmie Neese or to Roger Lovelace, but to the average American, that is a lot of money.

So, where is our Government's priority? Cure cancer or subsidize Halliburton and KBR while losing some of our best people and creating IOUs that our society will be paying back, via the Veteran's Administration, for the next 75 years? You see the choice our leaders have made.

Actually, it was last year. http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn10971-cheap-safe-...ls-most-cancers.html

Interesting stuff.

Cancer has been cured several times in a petri dish, which is the place where DCA is verified to work. It hasn't been tested in the body. It may end up like Vitamin C megadose cures cancer rumor a few years back, Not a thing in the body.
There have been several cures for cancer, however they are only effective on lab rats and such. For the past 30 something years there have been several near misses.. I do believe in the new "cures", I just think they are trying to find a way to insure maximum profit.

After all Cancer although considered a disease, is just your own cells "gone wild". There are cancer causing agents, etc.. some belive it is our species embarking on yet another evolutionary stage. Our human bodies attempting to yet again morph if you will.. or mutate to accommodate our environment.
