Democrat Senate seat in Connecticut is apparently secure. From J.D. Poersch newsletter for patriots like me:

<<<"On Tuesday, Democratic Sen. Chris Dodd announced his retirement. He has ably served the people of Connecticut for the past 35 years, and he will be missed.

The loss of a longtime statesman can deal a huge blow to a political party, but not when a strong candidate jumps into the race. State Attorney General Richard Blumenthal has run - and won - statewide since 1990 and is very popular in the state. Polling done this week shows that Blumenthal would defeat the top two Republican candidates by 30 points. In the pollster's words, "It would take an epic collapse for [Blumenthal] not to be Connecticut's next Senator." Those are great words to hear.>>>

Yu can start practicing now; repeat after me: "Senator Blumenthal."

He thought about that, but then decided that providing goods and services to sitting members might be unnecessary. He reached this conclusion after reflecting on how easily C Street-dwelling right-wing members of the House and Senate seemed to be able to find their own mistresses, and he figured that wingnuts needing other illicit goods or services would be fully able to acquire same without help.
Oops! Say it isn't so! Teddy is spinning in his grave!

Only a 9 points lead isn't good.

"State Attorney General Martha Coakley holds a nine-point lead over her Republican rival, state Senator Scott Brown, in Massachusetts’ special U.S. Senate election to fill the seat of the late Edward M. Kennedy.
A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in the state finds Coakley ahead of Brown 50% to 41%. One percent (1%) prefer some other candidate, and seven percent (7%) are undecided."

Michael Steele, of late, is doing an even better job of helping Democratic candidates, so on balance the Democrats are better off. Steele needs to stay in his job, do a big highly-publicized book tour, and keep telling his GOP critics to "SHUT UP," as he already has done several times lately. He is DA MAN (!) --for the Democrats, thaty is!

I'll believe when I see a Rasmussen poll stating such.

You don't even give the pollster's name. Looks made up to me!!!!

Poll: Scott Brown ahead of Martha Coakley by one point

Republicans have a very real chance at orchestrating a Massachusetts miracle in this month’s special Senate election to determine Ted Kennedy’s successor, at least according to a new Democratic poll out tonight.

The shocking poll from Public Policy Polling shows Republican state senator Scott Brown leading Democratic Attorney General Martha Coakley by one point, 48 to 47 percent, which would mean the race is effectively tied.
