Curious where you got your info...Cause it was not the Bible. The Bible says there is none good except God. And the heart is deceitfully wicked, who can know it?
This is gonna sound mean...but believe me when I say this is love. Mean would be knowing where the water is in the desert and NOT telling it...Well, here is the water in the desert.
There is only ONE way to heaven..you can't be good...you can't deserve it...you can't earn it..you can only accept Jesus as the sacrifice for your sin. That is the gospel plain and simple. It is an If, Then equation. IF you accept Jesus as your sacrifice THEN you will be in heaven. IF you do not, THEN you won't. That is not my idea...that is God's idea.
If you are a nice guy without Jesus...you will just be another nice guy in hell.

Say the suicide bombers.

Say the abusive authoritarian husbands.

Say the faith healers who through neglect kill their children.

Say the preachers who terrorize children with myths about hell.

Say the fundamentalists who advise women to return to abusive spouses.

Say the Imams who command the stonings.

Say the parents as they mutilate the genitals of their children.

Say the military commanders who commit genocide.

Say the televangelists.

Say the prideful.

The problem is not bad theology. The issue IS theology itself.

My point is that you're making exactly the same mistake as everyone else in the above list. "God said it, not me" is what everyone believes about their beliefs, no matter how idiotic or evil.

That's the delusion, and that's the error.

Those who are evil usualy know they are. Those who are fooled or brain-washed or are raised in hatred, I honestly believe that those who made them that way will pay for thier sins. But remember God will know if they liked it, or hated what they felt they had to do. God knows all. And God loves everyone. Even those who don't believe in him.
God will not be mocked! Those who do, or act in his name falsely, will pay dearly. God knowes the true intent of your heart. So please Love One Another, and be good.
Have a Nice Day,
Love Skippy

Hi Skippy,

Are you speaking of the Celestial, Terrestrial, or Telestial heavens of Mormonism?

Or, are you speaking of the heaven described in the Bible, the throne room of the eternal, preexisting God the Father, where Jesus Christ (the one of John 1:1) is sitting at the Father's right hand -- interceding for all Christian believers?

There is a vast difference. One, the Biblical, is real. The other is the teenage Joseph Smith's hallucinations.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Does that make you feel better?...then we would not have a standard. Just whatever feels good...

The bible is not fact, it's fiction.

I would not give him that much credit, there was no hallucination to it, Joseph Smith was a truly evil human being and the lies he spewed to control his flock where calculated and purposeful.

Sounds like every preacher I've ever heard of.

Hi BFred,

No, I believe that Joseph Smith was sincere, like most Mormons today. However, they are sincerely wrong. Mormons are not bad or evil people. They have just been sold a false, cult teaching -- and, unfortunately, far too many believe it.

Our mandate from Jesus Christ is not to call them evil -- but, to tell them about the love and salvation found ONLY in the true Jesus Christ.

Not the LDS church, not the LDS temple -- salvation is found ONLY in and through Jesus Christ.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Sorry, skippy, but in order to endure streets of gold and the unending rending of garments and praising of god, one must utter the proper magic spells here on Earth, forego the appropriate pleasures, resign one's self to one's own worthlessness, and beg one's loving creator not to convict one's self to an eternity of boiling sulfur.

In other words, it's all gobbledygoop, and you're better off enjoying life while you have it, because there's nothing afterward. What a fine gift Nature has given us with life!

Eat! Drink! Be merry and smell the flowers often! Be kind and charitable for their own sakes and the sake of your finite heart. Live without fear and dishonesty.

You only go around once. Make something of it, and leave the Earth a better place than you found it. If there is a Heaven, that'll be your ticket in. If there is not, you'll have been a good person. Worse things can be said about you.

Be well.

Hey Bill yes the Heaven of The Father and the Son, what degree of Heaven you end up in depends if you repent or not. You act as if you were on the Crusades of old. Don't be as the people of Noah's time. Listen to the truth and come on board before the floods wash you away. Your hatred will gain you no points with the Lord. You should respect other people and their truths, which you have none. You to can be as the Prodical son, repent and Christ will greet you with open arms. Our Father and his son were pre-existing and want nothing but the best for all of us. I for one am very interested in your church. Are you afraid to say. please tell me when it started, who started it, and by what authority was your church created? Or is it The Church of Bill?
How about an answer Bill?
P.S. and again not only can I not Spell, I'm typing with Two Fingers.
Have a Nice Day,

In all fairness, Bill had already answered your question on one of the other threads.

LOL.... I don't think so. I could be wrong.

Who is "SAM"? Opie has said that two or three times now. There is no Sam even posting on here.

If you are, I would like to hear your opinion of the forum evangelist.
Hey Semiannualchick, I was looking up one of my ancestors and his name brought up this forum. so just a few days ago I started reading these forums. A lot of them I really enjoyed and agree with, but some are just down right un-Christ like. Hey I beleive people should have right to voice thier beleifs, and I respect that. But, not being shy, if thier going to shovel manure. They better be prepared to get some back in thier face.

I am a Christian, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Yes the Mormon nick name has stuck, but I preffer to be called what I am a Christian.
Our view of The Father, The Son(Jesus Christ),
and The Holy Ghost(Spirit) are pure. He died for all of us.(Jesus) We worship no one other than The Father and The Son. The Holy Spirit
helps us to know right from wrong. Those who do not have the opportunity learn of Christ in this life. Will have the opportunity in the Spirit World before The Resurection of us all.
We have the free will to chose right from wrong
not only in this world but in the Spirit World.
Not trying to be preachy,un-like Bill, just want people to know where I'm comming from.
Have a Nice Day,

I don't know that much about the Mormons but I do have a question.
Do you believe that Mormon men can become God?

I don't honestly know if any man or woman from this world can or will eventially become Gods. There is a lot of things I don't know, that I can admit. But I beleive in our Heavenly Father
and His Son Jesus Christ. I beleive our Heavenly Father created everything in our universe, incuding us. But I ponder somtimes
What happend before the BIG BANG, was there nothing? How can all of this come from nothing?
Where did our Heavenly Father come from, did he have a Mother and Father? Are other worlds like our created somewhere out there? But I remain Amazed at His and his Son's Love they have for us.
Have a Nice Day,
Love Skippy

HI SKIPPY:

One thing I think about is that so few on this world understand the real nature of religion and of God’s role in religion. To so many here, religion is the following of a set of rules. Man-made rules, interpreted to be the so called “Word of God”.

So many reject the Religions of Authority on this world because of the inconsistencies born out of the fact that these religions were conceived by far thinking men and women of past ages, but are applied today as being, again, the “Word of God”.

To me, it would be impossible to believe in a God who visited dire punishment upon those whom he was unhappy with, essentially a being created in Man’s image. Therefore I thoroughly sympathize with the many “atheists” who have rejected this primitive view of what God is. Many of these individuals, born and raised with this awful concept of a vengeful God, a wrathful God, have rightly rejected this false concept as being impossible. I believe that most of these individuals have not rejected God…. They have rejected this primitive concept of the angry God/man, which they were taught, and which is, to a person who understands the real nature of God, a blasphemy against the reality of what God is. I believe that many would, if they only could let go of their stubborn pride, believe in a Universal God of Love.

But so few do.

Another interesting question I often wonder about is just how many of the fundamentalist breed of religionists will choose survival. After all, many of these individuals have based their entire philosophy of life upon the viewpoint of “if you don’t believe like me, you won’t be welcome in Heaven”. Will they be able to let go of their bigoted and hate filled mind-set? Will they allow themselves to share a universe with all of God’s children, and not just those who followed the same narrow and crystallized dogma to which they rigidly held during their short and unhappy lives?

Like the Religious leaders of the past, who rejected the human Jesus… did these individuals survive death? And the fundamentalists of today, those who so vehemently reject the Master’s simple message of the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man… what will they choose at the end of their lives of intolerance?
