Why no answer for me? You insulted and said mean things about people of another religion. I did not take it that you were saying these things to atheist, even though you named this thread "Even atheist are seekers" You then went on to make (what you have called in the past) mean and hateful remarks against those who believe in crystals and trees. That is not atheism. We don't be in any gods.....

I read this whole thread and the only people who are being snotty are you and a few other believers. O No you are the hypocrite. And yes you are delusional. At least from my stand point you are. Don't like it? I don't care. If you never said mean and hateful things to others I might take you more seriously, but you are the queen of mean. So you get what you give....

As I have said before, if you want to play dirty that is fine with me...just don't cry about it and say we started it. If you don't want that kind of response then don't engage others with ridicule and hatefulness. Other wise put your big girl panties on and lets go. I for one have thick skin and don't really care what your opinion of atheism is.

I just really dislike the double standard.

And if they are open to logic and reason and still believe in a higher power?

Truthfully, I would never make that statement. I was only using O No's own words and just replacing the crystals and trees etc. to show how it was no different than what she accuses atheist of doing here.

I can't answer your question. I can't imagine anyone using logic and reason and still believing in God or the bible. As Uno stated if you are talking about deism then yeah maybe. There is not enough proof to discount it all together. A slim chance is still somewhat valid.

Huh? What are you talking about O NO? I see you are dodging the questions again. Been taking lessons from Bill Gray? You are a very fast learner.

I don't feel that I am wasting my time here. I enjoy it from time to time. How bout you? You seem to enjoy it quite alot.

I am assuming you have no valid answer. I can't imagine you would. How can you explain starting this thread and saying those things about others beliefs and then trying to cop an attitude that it is alright because the atheist do it all the time...That is so 3rd grade of you. In essence what you are saying is that you want to be just like the atheist. Me and you can agree that these people that believe in crystals and worshiping trees, tarot cards etc. are completely delusional. I would not argue that at all. So come on girl! There is room for more over here. But first you have to grow up and stop believing in fairy tales. It is warping your ability to reason and make sense.

Ok Hun, I will just assume you are exactly what you pretend to despise here. It is what I figured in the first place. Just like so many other religious people I know, you hold everyone else to a higher standard than you do yourself.

I'll bring this thread up to you the next time you start whining about the "hateful" things atheist say about your beliefs. Those Estonian's would probably be upset too to hear you say they are sad, lost individuals without your God in their lives. You would think they (being spiritual) would have taken to Christianity. I guess the holy spirit is picky and only dwells in those that are spiritual in the "right" way, huh?

You don’t believe in the subject you spend most time talking about? I find that S T R A N G E.

Have you and O No been drinking the same kool aid today? What are talking about? I LOVE to talk about religion and its double standards. I wish I had more time to discuss it. I believe in religion, I don't believe in their dogma or the gods, but religion is reality. I live with it everyday.

Is that a self evaluation? I don't think you are speaking to me. I know where I am and I can see fine thank you. But just in case you are speaking to me, what makes you think I am lost and what does that mean? Oh wait.....thats right you can't explain what you mean by that. Apparently you can't make any sense of it either.

Thanks O No! I don't think it will have any effect on me, but I know that a true Christian wouldn't say something like that to be snide or insulting right? So I will take it as you being kind and concerned. In your own self deluded way.

What a curious thread.  Atheists are seekers, are we?

We are nothing of the sort, necessarily.  As a tendency, we seek the truth, to be sure.  I'll admit this.

We do not, however, seek imaginary answers to the unknown questions that occur to our evolved minds.  Or at least, we need not do such.  Perhaps some atheists are astrologers.  I reckon some are.

The best among us seek truth.  Science is the best method devised so far to determine truth about the natural universe.  It works.  It's defensible.

The religious will say that science does not address spirituality.  Not entirely true, spirituality is now a subject of psychology.  For instance, why do people believe in things for which there is not only no evidence, but evidence to the contrary?  A perfectly fine field for the head shrinkers to study.

I don't seek truth because I'm an atheist.  I'm an atheist because I seek truth.  And the Bible ain't truth.  Neither is the Qu'ran, the Torah, nor the Enuma Elish from which they all came.

It's time we matured as a species.  It's time we abandoned Santa Clause (a childrens' god) and recognized that we are a part of nature and that we must do what we can to perpetuate good, long, just,  happy lives for ourselves and our fellow humans for as long as possible.

I know you can understand that.
