Whether in Brooklyn or Whether in France or the Ukraine or anywhere else there are signs of an unspeakable evil among us all. Before and in World War II Germany murdered more than 6 Million (6,000,000) Jews for just being born Jewish and being considered a Jew or person that didn't hate jews.
Today, as proven by many acts reported, the seeds of that anger and evil are alive and well. I am not Jewish but I can fully understand that the elimination and murder of 6,000,000 people for any reason is unacceptable or should be in anyone's mind. Are the Jewish people hated because they are considered as G_d's chosen race or are they hated because they are G_d's chosen people?
I spent a few hours, the other week, watching Schindler's List that was written about a German citizen who assisted in preventing some of the atrocities that happened to so many of the German and Polish Jews from happening to all of them. A movie/film about a man worthy of respect and praise who gave up everything because of who he was and not what he was. Still today there are so many that fail to acknowledge that such an event ever happened or could have happened and that alone is bad enough but there are still many today that would, seemingly, gladly partake in yet another genocide and murder of people for just being born a Jew. This is as wrong as it was back then and it's frightening that such is accepted by so many. Today there are plenty of people that would rejoice if the whole Jewish nation were wiped from the face of the earth, many reside in Iran and other Arab nations. Likewise there is much hatred within the Jewish people for their Arab neighbors so Hate is the great evil that is allowed to exist and unfortunately will continue to exist from now on.
Often in today's politics the word hate is casually thrown around or misused when speaking about one's political adversaries or opponents. True hatred is ugly and among us and is cheapened when misused or misidentified. Racism is yet another form of hatred but all too often racism is misapplied to only one race as if hatred of another race can only be applied or reside in one race and not another. The true enemy of hatred or racism is acceptance and love and yet there is far too few that believe that or accept that. We are so quick to attempt to demean and criticize rather than debate and consider that we can still be friends and neighbors although we disagree. With so many things existing that can divide us, things such as Religion, Politics, Gender, Sexuality, Race, or Ethnic origin, we so often fail in promoting the things that bring us together and reveal that we are all very similar and opinionated peoples. Sometimes I think people feel they need to feed their anger and be angry and personally I cannot understand that mentality or concept but sometimes I believe we just have to accept what we are presented with and learn to carry on within ourselves.
Hatred of people for whatever reason will long carry on, much longer than any one of our own lives, and that same hatred and bias will also be responsible for wars and countless numbers of dead in a future to come. Maybe that's the worst legacy or failure of being human?
