OP7, contrary to your belief. I do not consider the public "lowly nasty pawn citizen". I have very much respect for people and try to be as fair as possible. The problem is when people think they are above the law and think it don't apply to them.

My goal as a L.E.O. is and always has been to make the community a better place to live. In my 14 year of experience this has meant putting really good people in jail sometimes. When I stop someone that is a public figure or a really good person and they are drunk, I arrest them. Its not personal, it don't make them a bad person. It does make them a law breaker! Like it or not!

Me personally, I don't get pleasure in putting a good person in jail, but it is nessesary evil of society.
fhantom ,
When you (Cops) know a person is dealing drugs, but you dont have the right evidence to go into the home for fear of it being thrown out of Court , then you start watching the person and follow them and pull them over to try and catch them with drugs ,thats entrapment in my opinion, I know we all have one . But if that person dont have any drugs on them when they get pulled over then what do you do ? Give them warning ticket , put drugs in the car ,What ?
I know of a man in East Florence , been selling drugs for years and years , I think I was a baby when he started and Im 50 now ,so you figure out how long he's been selling them ,its the talk all over the hill ,everybody knows ,even the cops ,,How do you get by with doing that ? Pay offs ,,how ??? You know he keeps it outside his home hidden ,but Im sure you guys have ahs hints as to the dealing and could sit up on him too and finally get some of the drugs on east hill ,but yall dont ,Id like to know how he does it and how the Florence cops let him keep doing it ???

I never meant to personnaly attack you, if you have read all my post, I have tremendous respect for "Good, Hard Working, Honest Police Officers" but I detest the ones who pervert the law and prostitute the constitution.

Deputy Joe Shanes is one of the finest men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, Thank You for all you do.

Deputy Reggie Gamble again is a great man who keeps our kids safe in the county school system. Thank you for all you do.

Deputy Lorrie ???? (Gist was her maiden name) A fine law enforcement officer. Thank you for all you do.

Sheriff Ronnie Willis - A fine Christian man who recently helped my sister-in-law with a domestic situation. Thank you for all you do.

Capt.?? Myron Crunk (DTF) the only officer who was pleasant with me during my recent arrest.

Can't remember her name but the Florence PD school resource officer at Florence middle school/freshman center) this poor officer was injured in the line of duty and I truly feel like she does a fine job and is an extremely kind person to speak with.

Several Florence Police Officers who completed police reports for me when my company was vandalized - although my company lost in excess of $300,000.00 in property damage, during multiple vandalizism incidents, 1 arrest was made because of an eye witness which I tracked down and we recovered $1,163. Thank you

Detective Merriman for showing genuine concern about our vandalism problems.

fhantom, this was my first post on this thread, and look how it has degraded, obviously this is a very hot, sensitive subject for many people, which would make one wonder how that could be if there wasn't truth on both side's of the arguement.

Pay offs? Planting Drugs? Corruption in FPD? Entrapment?

Hmm, that is some pretty serious accusations without any evidence to back it up. Thank goodness just accusations is not enough to secure a search warrant.

Ok, Mrs. Merry, this drug dealer you are talking about: what if the cops developed probable cause for a traffic stop, stopped him and got all his drugs? Would you still say it was entrapment or good Police work, and justice was served???

I don't really feel that way. If whatever your occupation was, I think you said truck driver, what if I came on here and said, all truck drivers do is pick up lot lizards, do speed, transport dope, lie on their log book to make more money and bypass the scales?

I think anytime someone attacks your career or ethics, it becomes a sensitive subject. Police Officers are held to a high standard and are in the spotlight for all the bad things that a very small percentage do, and never for the good things. Such as the article refered to earlier in this thread.
Well fanthom ,I see your not going to even try to answer me ,just keep on being yourself ok .

I was'nt accusing the FPD of anything , you ask my opinion about things and I gave it to you ,to turn right around and be accused of making accusation of the FPD , like I said you a doosey Miss Daisy ,yes you are .

What if the cops have all they need on him now and keep letting him sale drugs ? Thats whats going on .

Mrs. Merry since you seem to know so much why don't you call crime stoppers or go down to the police department and provide them with all your evidence? I mean IF you REALLY want to get this person off the streets...

WOOOOOW! Do you read your words before you post them??? LMAO. First you say:

Then you say:

Merry Christmas to All

I didn't use the word addict. I only asked if you were doing Meth because of the outlandish statements you continually make on here. LMAO, if I got my feelings hurt that easy, I wouldn't be doing what I do. But, will I stand up for what I do and other Police Officers do? ABSOLUTELY!
I have received a 3 or 4 tickets in my 45 yrs and no officer was rude. I have never been arrested etc. It does irritate me when leos do not abide by the traffic laws. One has to just watch America's most wanted or cops and see they deal with the worst of society and no one is ever guilty "right" Wink . Do not want to contribute to the revenue stream? Obey the traffic laws. Most Leos do a good job.

Now lets talk about the real NAZI'S who work for the TSA at airport screening. Big Grin

Thanks.

Thank You for what you do Trooper.
Giving my opinions and thoughts on a forum is a long way from accusing the FPD of anything . Wink

" If " I had an issue with the FPD , I'd file a report ok . Smiler

I just know when kids grow up knowing someone is a drug dealer ,and then your grown , 50 years , and he's never been stopped ? lol
I would think, as others do, that the cops know about it . Cool

fanthom since you like Red Sovine so much ,I bet you like Jr Brown too. This is for you . Smiler

I usually, don't make long postes. Police officers, firemen/women and first responders mostly don't do what they do for the pay, it is something they do because most of them are everyday people who wants to help others and it is why most of them do what they do, it sure the hell is not about the money.

As far as making revenue for the city, county, state, most of that revenue goes else where.

Police officers have some of the highest suicide, divorce rates, poor health problems than the average everyday professions. Not only that when they retire most of them have a life span of only around 5 years or less.

Police officers, firemen/women, first responders and yes nurses also, see things that most people never sees and they have to go home and live with it day after day.

There are bad apples in a lot of professions, it happens, thats life. There is no one perfect.

What would our cities, counties, states, or our country do without them.

About the same as yesterday and the day before, I'm not comfortable at all, kinda like having the flu but without the fever. But I guess I will survive. Now go ahead, what kind of smart comment you gonna give me about withdrawal and whatever? Let's see, does my ill spirit fit somewhere on your list?

NYTrooper, I might have been sleeping in English classes while in college, but I was wide awake when taking, Constitutional Law, Business Law I and II and U.S. History I and II.

I am fully aware what is in the Constitution from front to back, from one admendment to another one.

Constitution, RE: Link

And this has to do what with what? I never even hinted that you didn't know the constitution. Its just that you seem very gullable.

BTW...I believe you on the English. Wink

And for your information, Free medical care through the VA is limited to those who are retired or disabled with a service related disability, I fit neither of those categories.

if you have information where I may seek treatment there, please pass it along, my interaction with the VA was many years ago and I gave up trying to work my way through the system.
