A map of the oil and NG pipelines from Russia into Europe.

Note that important pipelines go thru Poland, Lithuania, and the Ukraine providing those nations with millions for allowing the NG and oil to be pumped thru their nations.  Also, note the Nord Stream pipeline, under construction, that bypasses those nations.

Then, there is a new Nord Stream 2 pipelines that deliver oil and NG directly to Germany bypassing Poland and the Baltic nations.

Russia will have direct pipelines to Germany, defunding Poland and the Baltics.

Germany will be almost completely dependent upon Russia.  Russia's economy depends upon sales of NG and oil.  Putin will have Germany at his mercy, defund nations he desires to add to Russia's sphere of influence.

So, Trump is an ally of Putin?  In what nuthouse, besides CNN, can that be sold!

Fact: Only 9% of Germany's "power' comes from Russian natural gas.

Fact: Under 20% of Germany's total "power" comes from natural gas.

Fact: Russian natural gas is going to Europe anyway, through other pipelines already in place.
Fact: Russian natural gas is cheaper the US natural gas because of Trump tariffs.

Fact: Tens of thousands of US homes burned Russian natural gas last winter. (a joint venture between Total and Novatek. Total is a French gas company and Novatek is under sanctions from the US.)

Its so easy to spot a lie. How could US tariffs affect oil prices?  The constitution forbids taxing exports.

It is true that New England did import LNG because the pipelines from the US gas fields don't go that far, but the "fact" that tens of thousands of US homes used Russian natural gas might be a bit spurious. Since the French company  sold a mixture of LNG from various countries stored in the UK,whose gas is it?

3. How much Russian gas is in the shipment?

It’s hard to know. The actual molecules were a mix of gas of varied provenance, coming as they did from a storage tank in the U.K. that also contained fuel from Algeria, Trinidad and Tobago and Qatar, among others. What we do know is that Engie bought the cargo from Petroliam Nasional Bhd and that the Malaysian company in turn bought it from Yamal LNG operator Novatek PJSC. It was the first cargo from the Siberian plant.
