I, for one, really am disappointed to see Frank's close. I have eaten there many times and was always pleased with the food and the service. The prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food served. Now where are we going to get good Italian food?

Same here. We've dined there quite often. Hate to see it go.
the best italian food this area has ever seen. really wish they would have re-opened in the old steak out location on cox creek pkwy. it has a patio for music and the dinning room isn't too big.
since they sold their equipment, i don't see it happening.
one of my favorite things about this area is all the great choices in dinning out. not a fan of chain restaurants, but we do/did have some amazing local restaurants. frank's and sweet magnolia will be missed. lot's of other restaurants that have closed over the years are still missed daily by myself. two that come to mind are el-toro and the tamale shop.

Wasn't a big fan of El Toro, except for the cheese and guacamole dips and beef enchilada.
Frank's Italian was very good but had the best setup when in Tuscumbia. When they moved to Sheffield it seemed they were anything but customer oriented. For one they stopped having Pizza and seemed to restrict their menu offerings. Then one trip we made we ask for a booth that was visibly open only to be told we couldn't set in that booth but they would put us at a nearby table. Although we wanted a booth we took the table only to have them set a couple at the very booth we ask for not but within minutes of being set, in fact before we could even be approached by a waitress.
Then later on to find out that there was no longer any daily specials it more and more seemed like things had to be on Frank's very curious whims and not what the customer needed or wanted. We always saw Frank's, at least the one in Sheffield, as being a very customer UN-friendly place with more and greater restrictions placed upon customers so we were and are not surprised that they didn't last. YES the food and Pizzas were very good in Tuscumbia and some of the dishes we tried in Sheffield were still very good but there became less and less incentives for choosing Franks over other competition in the area, at least for us, and from the looks of their customer base, at least those that were not captive guest,
Unfortunately Franks seemed to be one of those places that started off great and as they continued to move around and make changes became less and less desirable. Maybe Frank just gave up or didn't like being accommodating to his customer base?
I may be in the minority but I never liked Frank's. I thought their sauce was bland and the atmosphere was boring. Also, the last time I visited Flo it seemed that Ricatoni's had slipped as well. It is also possible that living in Chicago has made spoiled with all of the good authentic Italian restaurants up here.
I never did care much for Franks but have always liked Ricatoni's.
I make better spaghetti than Frank's ever did. I guess they made it on their price/quantity ratio.
