I don't know this for absolutely fact but I have heard rumor, from someone that should know, that it's very likely in the coming weeks to month that Fatboys will be closing it's doors again and most likely for good. I hope this is incorrect as I hate to see any place or anyone have to close but in such an economy and with such competition in the food industry it's a really tough industry to compete in.
I suppose time will tell if the rumor is indeed a good one or not.

I haven't heard that, but i could definitely see it happening. they have less business than when they were open the first time so it only seems obvious.
Every time I have eaten there, the service has been slow and the food so-so. It's sad, because the sweet potato fries are usually really good.

I have been there 3 times and thought the service was good and the food came within a reasonable amount of time (I didn't notice it being slow but I wasn't in a hurry either). The wings are really good and so are the Nachos. All of the times I have gone they have had a lot more food on my plate than I could eat.
Fatboys closed as of today I've been told. The VW Bus was removed from the building along with the tables (from what I was told) and the employees were blindsided by it (again from what I was told).

Wow, I thought it was just a nasty rumor but it looks like you were right. The employees had no idea until today, I hope these kids don't have any trouble getting their final pay on time.
Yeah, Shades of the old Court Street closing. Those employees were told when they reported for work that they were no longer needed also.
I am one of the employees affected by this. From what I've heard, the major investor who helped reopen the restaurant called the owner unannounced that he was shutting the place down. We all loved our jobs there and we were blindsided by it as well. It's very unfortunate. Honestly, I am not sure most of the employees got the memo yet, and when this was posted, only about 2 or 3 of us actually knew, which really makes me wonder who you are gbrk

I wondered about the TNValleyDeals coupons myself and if Fatboys will voluntarily refund the money.
And a note to mbln20, I am not sure what you are implying but gbrk has been on this forum for a long time and his insight into Fatboys is nothing unusual, he often seems to have the inside scoop about what is going on around town before others know.
my coworker went by after work yesterday evening and said that only the VW van has been moved out, and that there are signs on the door saying that they're closed for remodeling, so who knows maybe they're not done?

You could be right about a new idea but what I do know is that there are employees that have still not heard anything from management and have either found out through other people or showed up for work to the sign on the door and these kids still have not heard anything about receiving their pay which is of concern since it is customary to give final paychecks at the time employment is terminated. As for the people who bought the Fatboys coupons through TNValleyDeals, they should also be concerned since Fatboys has their money and it appears iffy as to whether or not they will be providing product for the money paid, it would be wise of Fatboy's to make a statement to the people holding the coupons and the employees as their silence is making people fear the worst which almost always means legal action.

I was just coming on here to say that they did announce to the employees where and when they could pick up their checks tomorrow and that they would mail to them to anyone not picking them up. But as I said, their silence did leave some people thinking the worst was probable. I really do think that Josh is likely to be a pretty good guy.

Looks closed to me. Nothing on Facebook about it being closed and when I posted something on there, it was removed. I've been by several times and I have yet to see a "remodeling" truck or such in the lot. Hate to see it go.
Definitely closed for good. The giant "For Lease" sign is back up that was used last time. Such a shame too, the place had potential. Guess he should've called Robert Irvine and got on an episode of Restaurant Impossible.
