The wife told me about their reopening today but said no one knew where it would be located. I doubt very seriously that they will open in the same location even though the advertising/signage is still there. From what I heard the reason they first closed was due to taxes that were due along with other unforeseen cost and part of that included the extraordinary rent of the building they were in which I heard was as much as $4000 a month if not more. You hear lots of things though.

Glad to hear he's going to go at it again. Maybe this time he's wiser and won't let those things that caused him to have to close down last time get to him this time. I always thought he had a good product and was popular.
Fatboys, Five Guy's and Buffalo Wild Wings will all be bidding for the business around there along with Logans, Ruby Tuesdays, Captain D's Taco Bell, Cracker Barrel, Bojangles, Hardees, O'Charlies, Sonic, and UMI not to mention KFC & Red Lobster, and the new Ricks BBQ. Something seems like it will have to give but wow all those places in such a short distance.
Who cares if Fatboys is back? Before, the food was pretty decent, but they rarely had a majority of the menu. And the one thing I heard so much great stuff about, the biscuits, they had already quit making before I went. The service was atrocious too. I think the place had potential, but it is going to take some major overhauling and it is my understanding there are some new partners but basically the same management.
Quite often it is from our mistakes that we learn the most. Since I didn't eat there that much I'm a bit reluctant making recommendations but I'll venture one. MonkeysUncle I would suggest going over to the facebook page for fatboys and voicing your opinion about the biscuits and could be they might would bring them back.

Could be that the owner followed some bad advice in culling the biscuits or maybe it was a decision he thought would be one that would be financially beneficial. Either way if the biscuits were really that good I'd say drop them a message on facebook and voice that opinion.
The ‘chicken place” Guthrie’s was never the same after the kitchen fire they experienced. I was told that the kitchen fire was the result of their failure to clean/maintain their equipment. They experienced a fire about the same time as the Sonic on Florence Blvd.

Prior to Josh opening Fat Boy’s, I met with him, as I was trying to obtain a contract for some of the work, prior to is opening. Personally, I liked Josh, but I believe one of his downfalls, was among the management and staff, with overrated ego, who were recruited from other restaurants.

I wish Josh the best, but unless, his concept changes, he is doom to fail again. When I select a restaurant, I return because of quality of the food, service and cleanness. Fat Boy’s lacked two of the three.

i finally made it back there today for lunch. had the Diablo burger, which has a quite spicy sauce on it, which is either chipotle in adobo or some sort of habanero blend, couldnt quite put my finger on it. plus it had bleu cheese and onions. it was pretty good. could've been a little hotter but i like it HOT. it was cooked more than i like mine though, i prefer medium..so that was really the only drawback. the seem to be faster at getting orders out, however we got there early so there wasnt a big crowd, that could've been a factor.
