Not science fiction, but among my list Richard Bach, Sun Tzu.

Not so much into sci-fi but I did enjoy The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Claire: City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass and she has a new one that looks like it will contain elements of The Mortal Instruments being released this month called Clockwork Angel.

Okay, SOME of my favorite fiction authors

horror - Dean Koontz, early Stephen King

mystery - Jonathon King, Nevada Barr

fantasy/sci-fi - Marion Zimmer Bradley (Darkover series)

sci-fi - Just started reading a book by a new-to-me author Gage Baker called 'The Empress of Mars' (the Empress is a bar, btw); Timothy Zahn

for fun - Charlain Harris (psychics, vampires, werewolves, oh my!)

Others include David Morrell, Douglas Prescott/Lincoln Childs (seperately and together)

I actually had a MUCH longer list of authors (I forget names easily) for trips to the library, but someone spilled soda all over it. Guess I I'm gonna have to start over.
