A female student at Wilson made a hit list last week and she was suspended for 2 days! I'm sorry something is wrong with that!! This needs to be brought to someones attention! There has been too much violence in that last few weeks in our schools and this should not be taken lightly!

Was it a hit list or a *hit list? There's a big difference. On a serious note, however, teenage girls make silly lists all the time, *maybe* the girl had no prior issues so they found a 2 day suspension to be adequate punishment. I know I kept an ever changing list of which rock stars I thought were the hottest. Poison's Bret Michaels (ew) and Guns n' Roses Axl Rose (double ew) were always vying for the top spot.
The list consisted of both boys and girls and she said she wanted to "watch them bleed." Whether or not she had prior disciplinary action should not matter.

If your childs name was on a "hit list" do you think 2 days suspension is appropriate? And no my childs name was not on the list. In fact my kids do not attened Wilson.
This is sick!! 2 days suspension was not enough punishment! My little sister goes to this school and my mother was NEVER informed of the situation, and would have never known had I not called and told her about this forum. Why are the parents not informaed by the schools when this happens? Where can I find more information on this "hit list" and the names on it? What grade was the fem in?
The girl that made the list is in 9th grade. The list had 6 students on it ( 5 boys, 1 girl). I do have the names on the list, but I'm not going to post that on here. Finding this information is what concerns me! I was told by family members who are students at Wilson. In cases like this shouldn't the staff make parents aware. Did they even contact the parents of the kids on the list?!
I'm not sure what else they could do, bbysqd. Right now it's just big talk and schools are full of big talk. If they kick her out, they'll have to kick at least half the school out for making threats, verbal as well as written. It's scary times we live in. I have a grandchild on the way & don't even want to think about what his school years will be like.
.. We do not have children or grandkids at all but very interested in the safety for all who do.

Maybe they do this. At begaining of each school year a list of all the rules that would apply to such as this, so for students and parents to read and sign . So then joking or not when a child does something as this , regardless of what child or family they come from , same rule or punishment would be no surprise! Now this maybe the case in all schools now.

It should be made very clear , as what is or not allowed at all schools. more so now than ever, same as the rules for any teacher or any school worker in handling a student when they get out of line.

I would want to know if my childs name was on any such list or as much infromation the school could give out .
School authorities all too often consider that they are somehow so wise and gifted in these matters that their decision not to inform parents (even parents of kids on the hit list)is, by definition, the correct decision. The rule should be that anytime a child is threatened in this manner by any other child, the parents of the threatened child are to advised. If the school authorities did not do this, then they are derelict in their role of in loco parentis (i.e. in place of the parents when under control of school authorities).
I have a child and a god-child that go to wilson. How can they think it was not necessary for ALL parents, grades k - 12 to be notified. No matter how trivial THEY think it was, parents deserve to be informed. I understand that this girl could be the victim, she could be being bullied or she could just be a bully herself. But the parents of the innocent, non-involved students should be informed of potential risks regardless. I would rather be proactive not reactive.
Better yet, why didn't they just post all the names on the TD website and announce it on all the local news stations. What if some of the kids had been from different schools? Should we send SWAT to the schools to protect the potential victims? I'm betting this was a misguided "stream of consciousness" writing that the kid had no intention or ability to do anything about. 5 of the kids were boys that she was probably mad at because they wouldn't go out with her or they went out with her friends, etc. We don't have thought police (yet). How many times has a kid or any of us at some time said, "I wish he/she was dead. I'd like to see them run over by a truck. I hate you and I wish you were dead. I'm going to kill you." How many of these kids and/or the people on this forum play Mafia Wars on Facebook and take great delight in killing their enemies (friends)? Without something more than this silly list it sounds like the suspension was appropriate.
You people are absolutely ridiculous. This female, let me remind you, a minor that all you poeple are gossiping about is not a danger to anyone. If she was a threat by any means this would have already been brought to the authority's attention! The so-called "facts" on this forum are not even true. I am personally close to the family of this girl! This goes to show how things are blown out of porportion. This is a rumor that is old news and no one cares about! Have you thought that if it was such a case that more punishment would have been brought in to effect? If u you do not know the story, quit acting like a teenager yourself and keep your mouth shut and find better things to do than GOSSIP (not talk but GOSSIP) about a minor. Thanks.
I dont have all the specifics in this case, but the Hville killer, from what I have read and seen on the news, was a self proclaimed member of a gang (he had also recently been in alternative school). Gang violence is much different than most other violence. Had this girl been a member of a gang, and/or shown some other violent tendencies besides just making a list of people she hated and wanted to see 'bleed' (if that is what was really written, I havent seen it anywhere but here), then the decision might have been different.

didnt mean to affended anyone on the last post. jus do not like hearing what is not true. take it from some one who knows, no names were metioned, and this female is an honor student, in all clubs, and such. she would never hurt a fly. she has never even been in trouble and it was NOT a hit list. and thats why she did not get in trouble. because it was not what this forum says it was. let me add in the people on her list, 2 of them were her brothers. and the other one was a best friend she had got into a fight with over a silly reason. and it was a letter venting her anger that she wrote to herself and was going to throw away.nothing was said about any one dying. just please if u make a comment understand that the female your refering to is a good friend of alot of people and she really does not deserve this. thanks basically every one who loves her at wilson high and that is basically the whole school.
someone on this forum stated that the list had 2 of her brothers? I was told that the girl was an only child. Also my children attend a school in this system and somewhere in the hand book (THAT EACH PARENT HAS TO SIGN)states that the punishment is Alternative school... If she only got 2 days, would that not be concered gray? And also would she not at least be made to apologize to the children of the list and THEIR PARENTS.
praying, it's kind of hard to judge this one because none of us know any facts, just hearsay. imtrue seems to be closest to the situation. Maybe you should listen to her? If it's what she says and I have no reason to doubt that, I'd consider this girl's punishment pretty severe and an indication of a no tolerance policy. JMHO

That's right. The confedarate flag is not about racism. Two of my best friends at work are Americans who are black. They have no problems going to the bar after work and sitting right beside me and my Dixie Outfitters shirt.

I'm a white guy, and even I'm gonna have to call you out on this ignorant statement.

Other than the recent shooting at the middle school in Madison, please submit us a link showing where a school shooter was black.

Well I'm glad to hear they aren't Nigerians or Ugandans, but the fact you are willing to play the 'I have black friends" card in this discussion is a sign that your thoughts on this issue are extremely shallow.

When the 'I'm not racist' argument is propped up by the 'I have black friends' defense, it is not proving anything.

I can be your friend and still think you're a dumb@ss, just like your black friends can be your friend and still think you're a redneck.
