The food was fantastic! All of the food was cooked fresh to order. My burger included grilled onions. One small order of fries was more that my wife and I could eat.
Compare with the quality and price of Burger King, or McDonalds of what we usually order, it cost a few dollars more. However based on the freshness and quality, I would gladly pay the difference.
Five Guys will be arriving soon in this location (between Fatboys & Logans). They will first build a Strip center which will be a shell building for multi tenants.
Under a separate contract will be a tenant build-out in this shell for
a Five Guys Burgers and Fries. No set timeline yet, but I am saying maybe late Spring early Summer 2011.
Five Guys is on an expansion spree. The food IS good, and an order of fries feeds a few people. What's good is the cajun seasoned fries. That food will kill ya though!
As far as the price of five guys, when was the last time you at at Burger King or Wendy's? A fair amount of the combos at both are in the 7 to 8 dollar range after tax. Five Guys is around the same price, or not that much more.
There is another thread about this but I thought I would post it here too.
Wife and I chose to go back to Five Guy's now that they have been open for a while and the new has worn off. The crowds have noticeably dropped of but thankfully the quality and food has not. I still believe this is the best Burger in the Shoals but I also know there are many other places that have great burgers so as I eat more places I could alter that opinion.
As for our burger we had the Cheeseburger with the grilled onions other than the raw ones and also added A1 sauce. I'm glad, agree or not about the best burger, that we have a place like Five Guy's to choose from.
One more thing, regarding burgers. I always look for a place that makes their patties fresh and then either flat grilles them or char grilles them. Although I realize that there are some good burgers that come from the places that bring them out of the freezer I prefer the hand formed and fresh ones.
I have been there several times now. I really enjoy the burgers and fries. But the last two times I have been, my burger was full of ground up bones. Now I know this is not their fault but two different times in a row is going to turn me away from them. I don't like a crunchy hamburger.
I love it how Five Guys markets. Elderly couples come in and order two "Hamburger and Fries"--only to get two monster burger and two paper sacks of fries--enough food for 4-6 people.
Macho men don't like to order the "Little Hamburger", but it's enough food for just about anyone. My wife and I find the "small fries" to be enough for both of us.
You can eat reasonably if you know what to order.
My burger fell apart. I mean the hamburger patty fell apart, was very thin and "crumbly". Tasted okay. Nothin to write home about. Fries were good, a small fed 2 people.
