DR. PEPPER,, that old law and all past state and federal laws purporting to criminalize burning or other desecration of the American flag have been struck down as UNCONSTITUTIONAL. It is not, in my opinion a form of speech, but a criminal act. How ever "if" it is a protected form of speech, then the people practicing that form of speech should have any and all government benefits stripped, no welfare, food stamps or medicare on the taxpayers dime.

The thing that I keep remembering is how the Trump protesters fly the Mexican flag, proudly, as if they are in Mexico. In fact they actually do believe that sections of the United States and parts of, if not all of, California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas are Mexico and that the United States stole it from Mexico. They honestly feel that it still belongs to Mexico so they are not illegal but that Americans are for living there. This is why they fly their Mexican flags and if you look at their protest signs you will see their intent and their belief. As for their treatment of the American flag I fully believe that it should be illegal for their intent is not protesting as in the first amendment but rather to overcome and replace the American Flag with the Mexican flag and take back what they perceive as America taking their land.
I think that the best thing, given today's activities and happenings, to do with the American flag is to fly it upside down.
Because surely we are a land and people in distressful times.
