Has anyone heard about the guy that exposed himself a few weeks ago to a bunch of school kids while they were on an outing at the library? A friend of mine was there the day it happened. I thought it would have made the news or at least the paper.
A railroad is a ravenous destroyer of towns, unless those towns are put at the end of it and a sea beyond, so that you can't go further and find another terminus.

I'm not surprised. There have been some real weirdos hanging out at the Libe over the years. I remember one guy that was there all the time used to follow me around the book stacks all over the library. He was very scary.
If it was obvious that he was following you, did you report him? All it may have taken was someone questioning or asking if he needed help with anything.

I don't get the connection with driving a van makes you a creep.
Has anyone seen the guy in the silver car that drives around Florence taking pictures of people?

Yes, I did say something to the lady at the desk who laughed and said he was harmless. I guess it was perfectly acceptable for some guy to follow teen-age girls all around the library. BTW, this was at the old Libe, not the new one.

Well, he does kinda resemble Chewbacca.
So I take it that no one cares that a man can expose himself in a public library and nothing is said or done about it. I bet if he had done it at McFarland it would be all over the news and his pictures put up for everyone to see.

My best advice to the person this supposedly happened to would be to file a police report immediately. If there is no police report of the incident it makes it really hard to follow up on and be investigated further.

There is an article about it in the Law & Order section today that explains why nothing can be done about it at this time.

So the library could get the paperwork going and they have not done it yet? That really says a lot about the people running that place. Sounds like they are trying to cover something up or they lack the sense to do what is right.
This freak needs to be made example for all the other perverts around here. I agree with the earlier statement that there have always been people like this hanging around there. I heard about things years ago that happened. How do we know this guy is not an actual child molester???

That guy took pictures of my two daughters playing in the front yard one day. Our neighbor is a police officer so we called him. He followed him quickly out of the neighborhood and followed him until he was far out of the neighborhood. According to this officer, the dept. has received lots of complaints. They can't do anything about someone driving around taking pictures of people.

well, it has to be a certain type of van. minivans and pretty much anything from the 90s up and you're good. you know the type of van i'm talking about. late 70s early 80s, usually have curtains over the windows or they're blacked out. just google creepy van to get a better idea.

FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) - A Shoals man is accused of walking into the Florence Public Library and removing his pants in front of a group of kids that were being read to by parents.

Florence Police have arrested and charged 33-yera-old Randal Richardson, of Sheffield, with public lewdness. Police issued a warrant for the man but have not arrested him yet.

On May 20, library officials say Richardson walked in through the front door and approached a group of kids.

According to witnesses, Richardson removed his pants but didn't go any further. Police said because the alleged incident didn't go any further, they were unable to charge him with indecent exposure.

Authorities said only parents witnessed the event and the children had their head turned when the pants were dropped.

So now I have to ask a question. Why did it take so long for the library to get the paperwork completed? Do they not have an admistrator over the library that could have done this that day? I guess that was two questions.

Perhaps you should direct that question to the library instead of in an open forum.
