Foley fallout? Page applications increase

Before the Mark Foley scandal erupted last fall, congressional page applications trickled into Rep. Dave Weldon’s office one at a time, every once in a while. Since then, Weldon aides have noticed a steady flow of two or three applications a week and a number of calls from curious high school juniors and their parents. “How do I apply?” has become a common question, not “Will I be safe?” as many lawmakers predicted in the wake of the Foley scandal.

I would say that most of those apps are sincere, but some of them could very probably be questioned as to motives....

Maybe SOME of the high school kids automatically think if they are a Paige they can have S E X ... ugh, how horrid is that?
