Not a good choice. Of all the shots taken yesterday, that's what you go with?

What would an out of town visitor staying and the Marriot think when he opens his door and sees that picture on the newspaper at his feet?

If that hurts his eyes...he probaly should not be in Florence..its a Newspaper not the JC Penny catalog...If he went to the show...thats what he would of seen..no false advertizing...just my opinion..
It would be nice if someone from TD would give their reason for using that picture. But I won't hold my breath waiting for an answer. Cool
Nashbama, don't you think this area would be a good place for a newspaper to set up shop? For all the area has to offer, the journalism sure don't do much to help present it.

No, not false advertising, but a much better shot could have been used that would have been just as accurate of the event.
I totally agree. Mr. Mitchell, the TD would like to see more entertainment venues in the area. Yet when Lynard Skynard came, the paper featured a shot of wild-eyed fans waving their beer bottles. It doesn't make me want to be present at such events.

Now the TD shows a similar pic on the front page. I look for the Marriott to install barbed wire to keep the riff raff out.
The front page picture was inappropriate. Exposing one's breast for nursing can not be compared to low-cut attire which shows too much or all. Two different situations. One is (private) bonding between mother and infant, the other is looking for trouble.

Good point, David. The men were an accurate depiction of the people at the Spirit of Freedom Celebration. They weren't displaying cigarettes, alcohol or anything indecent.

People in the Shoals sure do get worked up over the strangest things... I wonder how many people bought the paper just because of the photo on the front page? People were taking about it, so I'm sure it generated a nice buzz for the Times Daily.
What about the little girl in the background in the bikini? I find that more disturbing that two drunken rednecks having a good time.
THANKS DAVID!! Redneck happy hour at it's finest! That's a front page pic if I ever seen one!! lol!! After all, it was Skid Row!

& yes David, it is a little disturbing that someone let that little girl roam around with the bikini on, not knowing who or what was lurking around....you never know in this day & time....maybe I am just to over protective or old fashioned!!
Perhaps you would prefer a photo of Mayor Bobby and First Lady Sarah rocking out to the heavy metal band in the river bottom? Get **** lives people! That was an accurate depiction of the event and nothing is wrong with it. You clammor for music and live entertainment and when you see someone enjoying something other than Vacation Bible School you act like Hell is just around the corner. Well, you're wrong, we are living in it!

Bubba, do you reckon that Mayor Bobby and Lady Sarah actually go to the heavy metal band concerts?? My guess would be NO.
