I remember growing up in Franklin county. People have been against the sale of alcohol for as long as I can remember, but, their arguments are still just as ridiculous as they have always been.

1. Under age people can get alcohol from a bootlegger easier than they can from a legitimate business owner. A Bootlegger is already breaking the law by selling alcohol, so he/she is less likely to care who they sell it to.

2. You are right across the line from Littleville, which is wet. I'm pretty sure that all the people that want to drink alcohol in Russleville are already doing it. The people who want to drink will make the drive to get it. There is no evidence that substantiates the claim that it will lead to more crime. If anything it may lead to less due to the fact you are now letting people have a legal means to get it.

3. Last but not least. We still live in a Democracy. The people of Russleville want a vote and should get it. And, if it passes, you should do the will of the people.

It is time to move forward and get out of your little dream world. If alcohol sales are made legal you will not be FORCED to drink it, it will still be a personal choice. Adults should be allowed to make this choice for themselves, not have it dictated to them by the government.

Half the people in Russleville will still drive to Littleville to buy their alcohol because they will be worried about who will see them if they buy in Russleville.
