We the people have the power -- and the responsibility -- to remove executives who transgress not just the law, but the rule of law.

The oaths that the President and Vice President take binds them to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States." The failure to do so forms a sound basis for articles of impeachment.

The President and Vice President have failed to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution" in the following ways:

1. They have manipulated intelligence and misled the country to justify an immoral, unjust, and unnecessary preemptive war in Iraq.

2. They have directed the government to engage in domestic spying without warrants, in direct contravention of U.S. law.

3. They have conspired to commit the torture of prisoners, in violation of the Federal Torture Act and the Geneva Convention.

4. They have ordered the indefinite detention without legal counsel, without charges and without the opportunity to appear before a civil judicial officer to challenge the detention -- all in violation of U.S. law and the Bill of Rights.

When strong evidence exists of the most serious crimes, we must use impeachment -- or lose the ability of the legislative branch to compel the executive branch to obey the law.

George Bush has led our country to a constitutional crisis, and it is our responsibility to remove him from office.

Didn't we just have a discussion last week about the "good people" of VT? Confused

Well Ed, the people of VT (atleast the ones who voted for this meaningless crap, kinda like what the Dems in Congress want to do) are asking for all the abuse they get for being so STUPID!!!

That is a hilarious statement -- but completely true!

Little George Bush, having lost his party the congress, gotten us into a failed war, forgot the War on terror in Afganistan, bumbled the Katrina disaster is NO "charging rhino". More like a wounded lame duck, waddling aimlessly in and out of one political mess to another. Hes lousy. But if it makes you feel good to call us names because you disagree with us - knock your self out. Hes still only pulling 30% approval.

I'm sorry Mean--I read back through that post and other than SassyKim comparing the SITUATION to waving a feather duster at a rhino -- there was no "name-calling"...sorry -- and Sassy is again right that just like this town has the right to their vote, she has the right as do i to think it was a dumb vote...oh well. and I'm still part of that 30%...

You misunderstand my statement. I was not referring to a RINO (Republican In Name Only). I was referring to the African land mammal with the horn on his nose. I'm not calling anybody names, and am not sure where you got that. My statement was that the people of Middlebury VT have absolutely no chance AT ALL of being sucessful with their self serving vote...and that if they expect it to do so, they are dumb. If you felt that I called you or anybody else a "name", you're wrong. If you think I'm worried about your survey's results, you're wrong.

Look deep into your computer monitor...if you think you see any concern on my part over what the people of Middlebury think...you're halucinating...please step away from the keyboard. That knock at your door is the guys with the white jacket that buckles in the back.

Nobody said they were dumb for their opinion. They are dumb for wasting time voting on an absolutely useless peice of non-binding legislation that doesn't matter to anybody. Kinda like the Dem's in Congress.

Lol.....Dumb enough to win the majority.

The people of Middlebury can make any statement they want - its their dime. If they had passed a non-binding resolution to support the president would you be whinning about that as well. Probably not. Its just none of your business what they vote on. Like I said - lots of people agree with them.
