As the midterm campaign kicks off in earnest after Labor Day, the Democratic Party will do its best to convince voters to keep it in the majority. It is unclear to what extent they will employ the president to help them make that case, though his ability to make a positive impact could be limited if his approval ratings continue to register below 50%.

It is all a rollercoaster ride and it doesn't matter who is in. After the Republicans gain control again, the nation will once again be disillusioned with them. There is never a happy medium.

The recession is directly traceable to policy implemented by the Democrats. True, he had deficits up to $200 billion. Obama has met that and increased it by a factor of six to eight for the foreseeable future. That enough for you!
I think he is doing the best he can and there won't be an overnight solution.

I don't need Gallup to tell me that we're in big trouble as a nation. And it's getting worse. It won't get any better until we get rid of BOTH parties, all incumbents, tax ceo pay and corporate dividends at the same rate as the middle class, and get rid of soft money to campaigns.
Reps created the housing bubble, had control of the WH and Congress, and did nothing. Anyone voting for a Rep in hopes of changing the current economic situation has not been paying attention. MORE REPUBLICAN POLITICIANS WONT IMPROVE OUR COUNTRY!

When unqualified borrowers began to default in staggering numbers, the government had to make good on the mortgages it guaranteed, and the insurance companies – like AIG – had to make good on the insurance policies they had issued.
