Extremely large sporting goods store -- hunting, fishing, camping, Most good old boys think they've died and gone to the Great Hunting Ground.  I expect the bass tournies will use the store quite a bit.

I love the Gander Moutain stroes, so this is big happy surprise for me.  A cross between Outdoor World and Academy Sports

They are indeed great stores.  On some things, including clothing, they are a bit pricey.  Their stores do not feature some of the showy displays that are found in Bass Pro Shops and the Gander Mountain stores that I am familiar with do not stock the big honking bass boats or pontoon boats found at BPS, and don't have any fast food outlets in their stores, but they have a nice selection of canoes, kayaks, and small outboard-powered water craft. They stock a lot of Columbia products and Merrell shoes and sometimes offer good discounts on these.  I am very well pleased with a Redlington fly-fishing vest I bought from them.  Their fishing section is as big as BPS's and better in my opinion.

I doubt that I will be visiting the store since I don't hunt or fish but it is good to see new businesses opening!

This is exciting news. I am very fond of Gander Mountain. I hoped for a Cabela's but this is great too.

I'm glad to hear him mention Fly Fishing, he may posses more character than I thought.

 

It's good news to have a Gander Mountain Store in the Shoals. We've need a outdoor type store here forever.

 

David, they carry many clothing item mostly outdoor, hiking, hunting, and camping supplies, but truly you should check them out, Everybody needs a good flashlight, batteries, rain gear, thermos, or cooler, since you never know with our weather, when the next storm may surface, bringing a power outage ,

It is just that I also have clear-headed views on the Mormon and Catholic belief systems.  I am consistent in my clear-headedness!

Fly fishing is not necessarily a mark of good character or other virtues.  In my case, it is, in fact, an ADDICTION, but one far less harmful than many.

It appears finally we may share a similar passion. Therefore in my little world it gives you character points.

YES! 

I lived in the Wilmont , Wi. area where the first Gander Mountain store opened many years ago. It was the place to go for not only sports stuff; but for some of the very best in cold weather clothing. I am sure there is no need for the extreme weather gear but they do carry other things that are very good. Pricey, yes but quality was always good. BWTW: I cannot beleive some of have nothing better to do than start some childish comments back and forth over nothing. They should put in a new subject: JUST FOR IDIOTS TO BASH EACH OTHER!

It's not just here either. I've noticed it on many other forums too lately that in the past have been very friendly and where everyone usually gets along. It's crazy. I honestly think the internet for many has become a place to go and let off steam and be mean, rude and downright nasty because of the anonymity.

I hang out with a woman.  I refer to her as my WIFE. She dresses quite conventionally.  Should David acquire a "wife," it will be one, I am sure, that  "identifies" with him in gender. Whether he and his "wife" prefer the lumberjack style or some other mode of adornment is entirely up to them.
