Let's put a bit of perspective on the gas prices we are seeing in the Shoals.

I am in Newport Beach, CA at the moment...in case you don't know, this is one of the highest cost of living areas on the planet (it's the 'OC' for crissakes!)....price of gas here.....wait for the drumroll........

$3.61/gal.

yep, that's at the station located between an Aston Martin/Rolls Royce and a Lamborghini dealership. As well, I haven't seen anything higher than $3.85/gal in other areas out here as of today.

I have been traveling out here consistently for the last 5 years and gas prices have always been at least $.50-$.60 higher per gallon than they are in the Shoals (usually even more than that!). BUT NOT NOW.

Someone is getting gouged....and they don't live in California.

See ya'll just ain't lookin' at it right. Ya'll get to pay a cheaper price for gas but we get that same price, plus a lot of extra tax added on to that so the turist can play golf!

An to thank, them thur kalifornian's thought we waz stupid! Roll Eyes

If I send you a few bucks can you pump me a few gallons of the cheap stuff and mail it back? LOL
I was in Derma, Mississippi over the weekend. Gas in the Shoals area was anywhere from $3.85 to $5.30 per gallon. We filled up at Murphy Oil in Muscle Shoals for $3.85. We got to Derma Friday night and their gas was $3.99. By the time we left on Sunday most stations had already dropped $.30 per gallon ($3.69). We topped off at $3.45 per gallon. WE ARE GETTING SCREWED IN THE SHOALS AREA!!!!!!!!!!

Just think ...GOLF & Tourist!!!!!!! Oh & yes all of the great jobs that these industries (resorts) offer the average Shoals citizen! The times I've had lunch @ RTR there were maybe 5 other people there including staff. Thank our brilliant politicans for our gas prices.
