The Ottoman empire's conquest thru southeastern Europe featured extreme tortures of their opponents, especially Christians  One opponent in the Land Across the Woods, upped their gambit by impaling thousands of Ottoman soldiers and drinking their blood. The Muslims avoided his small kingdom in the future -- Transylvania.  That leader was the King in Wallachia and Count of Transylvania, Vlad Shepes (the impaler).  aka Drakulcos. Not advocating such, but pointing out what a Muslim enemy may drive their foes to.
