I guess he has no chance of repentance?
Hi Crusty,
Possibly you do not have children or grandchildren -- but to make fun of this lady's anguish is wrong. Put yourself in the place of this lady. She has two young girls who were sexually molested -- and most likely scarred for life -- by a person they considered a friend. She is angry; she is hurt; she feels the pain her daughters will suffer for the rest of their lives -- all because of one sick, twisted sexually perverted person.
And, on top of that -- the judge only gave the man fourteen months in prison -- with time off for the eight months he has been waiting for trial. Lets look at this: The man raped her two young daughters. He is found guilty. And because of this liberal judge -- the man will only spend SIX months in prison for this horrendous crime.
If you had two young daughters who were raped by a man -- and the judge only gave that man SIX months in prison -- how would you feel?
So, the woman called upon God to give him the punishment this liberal judge would not. Before Fish can jump in here with a twisted comment -- no, God cannot be called upon to mete out justice such as this. But, in her frustration, I can understand her asking for His help.
When the mother said,
"God don't like ugly messing with his angels" -- she is right. God does not like anyone harming young children -- those still growing in their mother's womb -- or those growing within our families. Jesus loves children, as we witness in Luke 18:15-17,
"And they were bringing even their babies to Him so that He would touch them, but when the disciples saw it, they began rebuking them. But Jesus called for them, saying, 'Permit the children to come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.'" Does this person who committed this horrible crime against these young girls still have a chance to repent? Yes. Anyone, regardless of your sins, can repent and receive the free gift of salvation provided by Jesus Christ on the cross. Yet, even if this man repents of his sins and is saved, he will still one day have to stand before Jesus Christ and face what he has done. He will have salvation (1 Corinthians 3:10-15) -- but, would you want to stand before Jesus Christ at judgment (2 Corinthians 5:10) and admit to him face-to-face that you had molested and raped two young children?
Crusty, we should not be laughing at this lady; we should be feeling her pain -- and we should be praying for her and for her young daughters.
God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,
Bill
