At risk of being accused of "Bill Graying" a topic, I think this post deserves a closer look and takes off on Jennifer's post "Drunk With Blood" but also expand on the numbers of killings ascribed to "atheists" what was mentioned in another post. So rather than posing this in both threads, I started a new one:
Let's take a look at who killed more people, God, Satan or Atheists?
This website take a pretty good stab at quantifying the numbers of people killed in the bible by God versus Satan. He comes up with roughly 2.5 million people killed by God in the bible. But that estimate was only part of the story. His estimate didn't include some of God's most impressive slaughters. How many did God drown in the flood or burn to death in Sodom and Gomorrah? How many first-born Egyptians did he kill? The Bible doesn't say, so there's no way to know for sure. But it's possible to provide rough estimates in order to get a grand total.
His estimate came to about 25 million people killed by God.
And how many did Satan kill? The bible directly lists 10. Again, the author tries to estimate the number that Satan killed that is only hinted at in the bible an comes up with about 60.
25,000,000 for God. 60 for Satan.
But even those startling numbers don't tell the whole story. Think of the number of humans that have been born on our planet over the past couple of million years. The estimate is that about 100,000,000,000 (100 billion) humans have been born on this planet. Infant mortality was horrible up until a couple hundred years ago. It is estimated that about 50% of the children died during infancy. Now, of those hundred billion, about 50 billion were small children. Perhaps that is an exaggerated number? I don't think so but let's say it was a small fraction of the 100 billion. Even a small fraction of 100 billion translates to countless millions of children that God killed before they had a chance to contribute to His plan.
This is the God you folks worship? Why?
